Entry forms are now out for the Manningtree High School Vehicle Show. Please note that this year there will be a charge of £3.50 for each vehicle and with this you will get a commemorative plague.
If anyone would like an entry form, please contact Jan Merrick by email: merrick( at) mercury2000 (dot) co(dot) uk I do have her phone number if anyone would like it.
We have been to this event for several years now and it is usually a good day, even if it does rain all day. (Mitch, they do have a few trade stades there )
thanks for that info Fi, apart from the rain we had a good time last year, just hope they dont put us right over the back out of the way again. if anyone does decide to book then i recommend we all book under 'turtlespeed' or they might put us all over the place cos they not very organised with the parking, they could do with a few lessons from oldskool!
That's what you get when you have kids doing the parking at these events! The clubs tend to get positioned at the back of the showfield, the first year we went with the AHRA we didn't have a club stand and got a slightly better position.
I just recieved another form today because some tightarse people are whinging about having to pay a measely £3.50! so they have decided to make it a free show again, £3.50 for christ sake, some people are so bloody tight!
Got our entry number today and our cheque for £3.50 returned. My understanding was the event was trying to raise money for Manningtree High School, being on my son's school PTA, that's why we run events.
The show is now free to enter, so no need to pay unless you would like a plaque and that will cost £1.50. (You will need to let the show organiser know before hand if you want a plaque)
Let's see if one of us lot can bring back some silverware home for a third year. Barry Farr came third (maybe even second) in 2005 and Simon with the Pie Wagon took first prize last year.

I'm going too. Bumper and Luke put the hood trim on at the weekend - at least if the sun catches the chrome it'll now look like I'm doing a bit more than 40mph!
We only entered the other week and she said never too late to enter. Too late to get entry pass posted out now though, but just tell them you're with turtle speed - we've got nominated group on our entry tickets.
Spoke to Simon tonight and will be meeting him sunday morning . Chevy will see what time si and andy get to colchester and maybe we will meet you all at the Balkene Gate and cruise up together. Let the sun shine!
Some fine pictures on there mrPOPular. it wasnt just chucky who enjoyed the music tho, i know you and jo enjoyed it as did jerry and just about everyone else who i spoke to!
