we will be running standard running gear for the moment and hopefully a 1275 later.
still has standard brakes etc but as this is a budget rod and i am trying to show my son how to build a car you can have fun in on a shoestring(hopefully)thats the plan anyway.
am going to all the local autojumbles in the hope of picking up bits.
I have had many cars, Minors with V8s in, my Charger and some other interesting stuff, but out of all of them, that ratty satin black Minor was my favourite. The car cost me £550 when i bought it and i spent about £100 on it. The engine was standard with a straight through exhaust my mate made out of old bits. It had lowering blocks on the back and was lowered 2 splines on the front. I did the pin striping on the boot myself. I drove the car everywhere and every day. couldn't stop using it. I loved that car. Just proves you dont have to spend a fortune to enjoy your car. Unfortunately it was scrapped in the end as the rot took over.
