Speaking to julie tonight she came up with an idea.
we were looking at the ahra website and ebay and looking at the things chris has on ebay to sell so he can get the camaro back up and running for james's memory and because it is a camaro!!! ( great taste chris).
Chris did mention last week to me he has got plans for the camaro so what do you all think about having a cruise to somewhere ( to be discussed), maybe somewhere quite central to other clubs in the area, all meet up have a drink and everyone that attends put a fiver in a pot and present it to chris to help him get the camaro on the way to what he has envisaged so James's last request is realised in its entirety.
we could email other clubs in the area to see if they would be interested.
We never went down to my mates pub in South Woodham this year but it is quite central and I am sure he would love to have us all down there.

Sounds like a great idea. If you do that thing at Woodham i'll help out anyway i can, either man power or money or whatever. Just call. And dont worry, i wont at the last minute say 'oh, actually i'm a bit busy that day, i've gotta iron my foreskin' i'll be there, no excuses!
Sounds like a good idea, Bekki is planning a big cruise down to the Ace, but I'm not sure if we could take our kiddies due to the long trip.
I spoke to my sister about a cruise amd she suggested that we did a few laps of Colchester on a Friday evening. She said she used to see him driving about Tollgate on Fridays when she was working late. (Sis works at AHF you see)
*Before anyone gets the wrong idea or is upset by my comments, I think we could hold both cruises: this one that Ian & Julie are sugeesting and Bekki's one to the Ace.
Fi, you really shouldn't be so bothered about upsetting people with your comments. If they get upset bollox to em thats what i say! I wont go to the Ace as i dont like the Executioners and its kinda there place. I've got a mate who runs a rockabilly club in Camden and i used to DJ there too, maybe if we organise an event i can get some music there. as long as we dont make the event on the same weekend there is no reason why anyone would get a strop. (i'm not furious, i just like that smiley)
i will contact my mate at his pub and see if one he has a music licence and two if he has any free dates for mitch's mates band. spoke to simon tonight and he suggested that. if my mate steve has got some free dates then maybe we could do something for chris's benefit and promote it under the turtlespeed banner.
Mitch spoke to his mate and even at 'mates rates' its still £350!!!!
Mitch is going to try and call in some favours from other bands. I can probably arrange a couple, but they are not well known enough to get a lot of people. Although that wont make a difference if its not a big pub.
I think the event needs to be called 'Chris needs to get blown'
How is the pub quest going. Your mate should be ok with the takings as Mitch will make sure we have some rockabillys coming and the nightmares will come. The usual suspects from AHRA will come (Woodham is a long way from Ipswich!!!)
