saw a lovely red estate version today, an old fella abot 104 was driving it with a massive grin on his face,looked like a fresh respray.not modified but looked realy good

I've seen that one, must be a different bloke though, the one I saw was older than that. Think he lives in Rochford. Tried to catch him once to ask him if he wanted to sell it. Did you notice all the side chrome trim has been removed and holes filled.

Love the Super Minx, Turtlespeed stickers ram out I think BUT i'm sure I can make some more. Decide what colour you're having the car and I'll colour the sticker to match.

ha ha, Yeah, I had heard you had a fondness for Superminx's.

me - not so much at the moment. Once I've got it running well again I'll be happier.

mines a 63 automatic , is that rare-ish?

Sort of, is it column change? Its a mk1 with curved rear screen which is nice. I've owned a convertible (my first car) and 5 saloons, 3 curved screens and two flat.

 yeah , it's a column change, I do prefer the curved screen ones.  Loved the red and black one you had, it stood out so much, you don't see too many modded superminx's

if only I had the skills and cash to pull that off!

Having enough trouble getting this one running.

I want to upgrade to an alternator instead of the dynamo and change to negative earth so I can fit an accuspark ignition,

but in the mean time it'd be nice if I could get it running for more than 10 mins at a time :(

all the time it's spent idling on the drive has discharged the battery as the dynamo cant cope.

At least with Si's help I got some way to solving my issues! Cheers Si I owe you a beer.gif

Your right, not many been done, dont know why, they are a perfect shape for modifying. My first ever custom job was a Super Minx! biggrin My mate's girlfriend left him and he was depressed so he moved to southend and we customised it to cheer him up, it was a week before hemsby in may 1992 so did have much time. It was green so we got some pink aerosols and some white ones and started masking up. at the end of the weekend, after a few vodka's and a few rolls of masking tape we had the Grot Rod. Green with pink scallops fading to white, pink and green tuck and roll seats, pink wheels, whitewall tyres. Nutty car, finished it off outside the chalet in Hemsby.

Er...no, didn't have a camera then, this is a pic that a girl i knew took. Its the only one. It was crap....but it was a laugh, got it stuck in the sand at hemsby beach, had to be towed out.

Nice motors Mitch!! will get some decent pics of mine up once i've managed to get the paint done and got the bloody thing running.

How was Hemsby? will have to get to another one soon, Loved the last time I went

Si, might need to get a quote off you to move the car from Woodbridge to near manningtree if possible. will pm you about it when i've figured some things out.

No Problem, I recognised a few cars but have no idea of the current owners. Hope you didn't look too closely at mine. It rained when I sprayed it so I had to rush, there was overspray everywhere!! ha ha . Still, I was glad to make it out! Will have to try and make myself known at the next meet.
