got a problem with my kelseys fiat brava, can anyone offer their opinion. On friday she was on her way home and went through a ultra large puddle and half way up bourne road her car started to splutter and then died and she eventually got it started and the car limped and kept kangerooing to ipswich road and we had to tow it home on saturday morning. the car would not start but sounded like the engine was pinking but not firing. Today I sprayed all the electrical connections with WD-40 then took the air filter out which was dry, the plugs were also dry, so I removed the electronic ignition it out and removed all the leads from plugs to electronic ignition and sprayed them with WD-40, I also sprayed all the electrical connections, connected them all back together and reconnected the battery. I tried to start the car and after a few attempts it started but as you pushed your foot onto the accelerator the car gave a back-fire noise and cut out. I left the car running for a while and started it ,without putting my foot on the accelerator and it started , left it for a while and julie took it round the the block to test it so I followed her when we got back she said it was coughing and spluttering occasionally while she going round. Could this be a problem that water has entered the electrics and after starting it just needs to dry out, with all the damp weather we have had recently? We don't want to let her drive the car until we get the problem sorted. Any opinions gratefully accepted
