Not sure if i can bring the van yet. Last week i was pulled over by a traffic unit and the officer inside told me it was too dangerous to be on the road. Apparantly having a supercharger sticking out of the bonnet is against the law and he could have arrested me there and then and had the vehicle impounded! As i wasn t too far from home he agreed to escort me home in the van.
He has warned me that if i am seen on the road with it again i will be arrested and put before the courts!
I have spoken to his boss who seemed like a really nice man and explained in the 10 years i ve had the van its the first time i ve been stopped. He commented that he didn t see a problem with it but it is down to each officers perception. I am at the moment emailing the top bods at Essex police traffic to hopefully be allowed to drive it again!

what a loda of old bo88ocks i cant belive it unbelevable. that copper would have a fit if he'd been on traffic duty for the Felixstow run at the Nats. oh well i hope it all works out ok mate ,just take the van and dnt use main roads, avoiding the old bill. youll feel like the Dukes of Hazzard lol. see ya at the Nats YEEEE HAA.

Let him take you to court,call his bluff on it.

The van has a current MOT,engineers report and of course  the insurance company considers it`s safe too.

You can also call his boss as a witness....
If the chap is worried about your view to the front ask him to sit in a troop carrier / pig or similar armoured car

I`d also send a letter n pics of the Custom Car  for support on this.

That is unreal mate, 10 years and 1 jobsworth cnut pulls you! i agree with chevy, sod that copper and bring ya car along to the NATS, call his bluff if he does pull you!

OMG I am getting fed up with hearing the same stuff
The traffic unit it appears aren't the only ones trying to write the law
I am guessing this copper was polished to the hills-otherwise known as a rookie and they don't know ****.
Let it go to court show them the other street legal cars with an exposed supercharger the court will have to side with you (however afterwards with case law rules it could then be made illegal)
And then sue the cop.
Last time I threatened to sue a cop he walk away quickly.
and that was for towing a caravan.

Well its certainly been quiet on here lately, i hope everyone is ready for the NATS!
i just got 1 little job to do on the zody and get some crates of guinness n im all set! some of us are going in on wednesday to claim our usual pitch, we are then returning Thursday to help out around the site during the day n then hitting the sauce from Thursday tea time until late sunday night - i cant wait! biggrin

A shame about the weather but still a very good weekend catching up with friends and checking out new rides. Sorry I left early on the monday morn but was shatterd and just needed my bed!
