I've been watching the re-runs of American hot rod, and found out a few facts since Boyd died,
The garage has closed down and is no more..
Jo took over and Dwayne looked for a pay rise for his new level of responsibility and got the boot and is now working for West customs.
the Coddington Garage team and family tried to continue on with business as usual. The battle they faced was too much to handle. After Boyds passing, his wife Jo took over the business. She had rather large shoes to fill in the absence of her husband. With the team of machinists, fabricators, and paint and body guys behind her, she gave it a shot. Unfortunately, running both the hot rod shop and the wheel shop was too much for her handle on her own. The cars and builds that are not complete at the time of closing will be moved to two new shops. Both shops are being run by former Boyd Coddington employees. Dan Sobieski, a fabricator and long time Coddington employee, will be opening his own shop July 1st. Sobieski will be taking a few from the Boyd Coddington team to his new shop in Anaheim, Ca. Abraham Rodriguez, a newer employee, will also be working on some of the vehicles at his shop. His specialty is in paint and body, but his shop will be able to do anything the Coddington Garage did. Jo will continue on with the wheel shop.
The 3 sons have set up there own web site called son of Boyd

it was a real shame to learn the passing of boyd. he was an icon in the world of car construction and fabrication, my personal favourite being cadzilla which was made for zz top. shame that the team couldn't work together and do it for boyd. dwaynne was out of order wishing the company would stump up more money for extra duties. If you believe in something you don't comprimise the business you work for. shame on you dwaynne you arrogant turd.
June before last I drove from Foose in Huntingdon beach (they open to the public at certain times daily) across LA to Boyd's and got there 5 mins after closing time, nearly everyone had gone home but the showroom door was unlocked so me and Lucy went in to find someone and a guy that worked there,I think he would of been the guy who replaced Duane, said sure we could take a look around,we went through the showroom and there was just one car left there! Anyhow we went and looked through the doors to the workshops and he said he'd help me down the 3 steps into the shop itself so we went in and he gave us a personal tour of everything! Anothe man spoke with us who i'm pretty sure was Jo's Dad.Talk about sureal, walking around the workshop that i'd seen so much on TV,the tools, workbenches, office etc. There were plenty of cars around,a couple that i recognised from the series and the place was really clean and tidy.We were told to wait a little while and Jo would be free and when she was she came out of the office and spoke to us for ages, she seemed such a nice person and had plenty of time for us,one of her sons had a spinal injury some years back and was temporarily paralysed but made a full recovery, she gave us some stuff to take home before we left.Yeah it was sad to see that the place was obviousy winding down.As it happened when we went upto San Fransisco,we went to a Goodguys show at Pleasanton Showgrounds and i lost my camera and it didn't get handed in,so i lost all the LA pictures, including the ones from Boyd's,of all the cars and with Jo,GUTTED or what!! Still, the memories are there, and i'd strongly advise anyone to get to a Goodguys show,it was massive there we a few Boyd/Foose there actually (and more stuff even better!) along with absoluteley hundreds more, the standard was incredible, even a huge feild with cars for sale, from rough to flawless! The trade and swapmeet area was on the car park,I'd say the whole deal was probably at least double the size of the NATS but the show car area was X 10 in quality!! check the Goodguys website (and then Virgin airlines)

I have some pics of the Goodguys show,I dunno weather to put them here or in a new thread? I had more but my phone packed up and i got a new one on the insurance and didn't realise that i hadnt saved all my pics to my laptop! so much for modern technology sometimes eh,a few quids worth of Kodak disposable would of been worth its weight in gold in hindsight!!
