It failed on handbrake which i thought i had adjusted enough but obviously not, thing is, i dont think theres any more adjustment left so im not sure what i can do about that. Also needs a small bit of welding where the boot floor sits on the chassis, not something i was expecting to fail to be honest but i can sort that ok. Also failed on osr brake not working well enough, the problem with that is i have a small leak from a seal inside the diff which has obviously leaked onto the brake shoes which means the brakes are not working like they should! The problem seal is inside the diff and is a major poxy job to sort so im not feeling to confident about getting done in time!
you can do it tony does sound like the tester was a bit of a pain (arsehole)as if the brakes was working he could have give you an advisory as when you clean up brake shoes sometimes they need to be used a while to settle back down as for the handbrake is it that the cable is streched and your on the last adjustment coz if it is think i might have a cable expander if i can find it

sorry mark. but cable expanders are also an mot failure !!!

to be honest Mark i'll never get it done in time, i simply dont have the time for starters, ive also got to find a diff seal then it is a crap job which also involves a specialist tool which could prove impossible to find. The bit of welding aint a problem, the handbrake can probably be sorted as well but as for that poxy diff seal....... What annoys me most is ive spent a hell of a lot of time and money on the car and was confident taking it for the mot then this happens! Am in two minds what to do with it at the moment.
youv've had a hard knock tony but don't lett it put you off. if you cant get to the nats with it so be it, but don't give up on the car. step away and go back to it when your ready to, not because you have too.

Amazing how things can change so much in a week, took the car round to tailfins garage this morning and he got it all sorted for me, took it back for a retest and it sailed through! wahoooooooo! Thanks to everyone who has helped me get the car on the road - mainly Stevie, Nick, and thanks for all the offers of help during the week from Cudley, Mrbowtie, Mark and Simon etc, its always nice to know where your mates are when you need em! Cheers
well pleased for ya! as you can now do a few more shows with us and at least you'll have a smile on your face cruising round at the nats
hell yeh, ive missed far too many shows this year so a few at the end of the season will help. Have you found out the date for the colchester lower castle park show yet mark? last year it was the week after the nats then Thetford was the following week but you were'nt sure if they had clashed this year the last time i spoke to you.
