power steering problems( last year revisited?)

after last nights ahra meet we suffered a loose power steering belt. fixed by tom we set off and on the way home the steering went again. got home tonight and got stuck in to taking the bracket off so I could reset the belt that had slipped and was totally pissed off to notice that the bracket has broken at both ends. trying to get the bracket off is very annoying as it seems the bracket was put on before the engine mounts were put on.

sod it

not designed by a mechanic then .some times thats done just to save space, just more arkward when getting parts like that off. modern car makers are doing that all the time and it does my head in. bring back the old days ahhhhhhhh.

ian when the bracket is back on think you should get the crankshaft pully looked at as it seems to be running out and this could be causing you this trouble

tes i second what Mark just said. check the crank pully is bolted/tourqed up tight and that when running its running true.
