taken the lifters out tonight and soaked them and checked they work and i have found 2 pushrods slightly bent but only, have a spare set so going to put them in!
only thing to do now when its back together give it a compression test that will tell if your rings are gone or it could have been down to that sticky valve which bent the pushrod so when the valve shut the cyl. wasnt getting enough induction thus drawing the oil past the piston
Also check to see that your Exhaust Valve is Opening Like it Should . I don't think it's your Valve's not seating . And Sound's like your ring seal is good . I say this Because your Compression Test is Good . So I would Check your Valve Opening on the Exhaust Side of that Cylinder . Hopefully your Camshaft Lob is not Worn . Also check your Distributor wire / Cap for that Cylinder .
Well its up and running again, cleaned the H'tappets re-oliyed and just had it up and running, tappets still a bit noisy have started to get a bit better, but I reckon i will take it out for blast down the bypass tomorrow and then change the oil again. Fingers crossed it will do the trick
