Saved from the track....unbelievable

Well finally sorted the deal and saved from banger boys..............

1969 Firebird Sprint. Now this is not just ya everyday '69 Firebird of which there's probably only a handfull over here. 76000 in total, all models made that year. This one has the mega rare OHC6 engine in sprint form which is the bigger version engine with factory 4 barrel and with floor shift manual transmission from new.
This car has rock solid floors and boot, hole in one rear quarter and one front wing lower quarter, some bubbling on front of hood... That's it, was arrow straight and clean, sadly that's where it ends.

Banger boys firstly hi-abbed it away with chains, that sorted the gutters out, ripped out and binned all the interior including dash metalwork. Hit the wiper arms off with a hammer and same again with the wiper motor and auxilleries under the hood. Engine I found in with the spares I've recently bought and the gearbox has also been retrieved.
Now I know most of these people are donks but surely they had one brain cell that could register 'money' looking at what most would say is a damn pretty and desirable car ignoring the rarity which you could excuse the donk on.I did track said donk down and asked about it inluding the interior and his reply... '"Just an 'ol yank innit mate was gonna banger it but me mates racin' it instead, yeah binned all the bits". so no, a lap or two of the track would have been its fate rather than offering it back to an enthusiast. As luck would have it another banger boy aquired it who had visions of historic racing with it which really is the same fate just a slower death. He was happy with a profit so I got it.
ALL however removed parts went to Whip street in the shell of his last victim so no chance of retrieving anything now.
Have already sourced several parts over here and will continue looking  before I look stateside. Hopefully returning it to a nice usable muscle car but with all the others round here it won't be next week!
I'll load some pics soon, not a clue how to get them off me phone onto the pooter onto here............Luke, Help!!

banger boys eh! don't ya just ...............

Like Bumper says,a "donk" or "caveman",A caveman or troglodyte is a popular stock character based upon stereotyped concepts of the way in which early prehistoric humans or homininans may have looked and behaved. Most are portrayed as wearing shaggy animal hides/overalls, and armed with bone or wood clubs,(or adjustable spanners) ,unintelligent, and aggressive. Furthermore, cavemen are often shown as living in caves(scrapyards). It is more probable that the caves(scrapyards) were/are religious gathering places,(places of worship)or temporary shelter, and not the actual dwellings of the supposed "cavemen" they would also show displays and traits of brutishness or extreme ignorance.(especially on a Sunday..biggrin)
