What are the rods on the corner of the front bumpers for.?


ive seen on alot of old yank clasics have rods on the o/s/f and n/s/f  corners of the front bumpers pointing to the floor. what are they for and what do they do?

Kerb feelers cudley. stops drivers kerbing their wheels an tyres. When they contact the kerb they make a rubbing noise so you know how close you are.

Latest price Mike has seen for  new whitewalls is around £200 each!! £20 spent on a set of kerb feelers is worth it.

We've got a pair on the blue Humber, everyone asks the same question. You can just see them fixed onto the front wheel arch in the photo below.
