Rover V8

For a long term project/idea I`m looking at the Rover V8 with Auto

I know nothing about them apart the usual cars n vans that they can be found in.I reckon I"ll buy a complete running car so I`ve got everything I"ll need and part out the rest.
So,the question is " Which is the best to go for & from what year,RR,SD1,Coupe or LDV van?

ive used a sdi 3.5 v8.but i bought the engine and striped and rebuilt it mostly with new std parts.there a dodel to work on,and easy to modifie.ive put an edelbrock 500cfm carb with an offenhauser dual plane intake manifold, mallory electronic ignition with magnacore ht leads.block hugger exhaust manifoldS(needed to fit if tight for space in the engine bay) electric fuel pump.removed the fan off the water pump pulley (for space saving.)id totaly recomed r.p.i. engineering for parts ,and rimmer bros but rimmer bros are dear. well good luck ,if you need advise just ask.

Chris I too know fekall about them other than they are expensive for parts and even more so if you want them to perform, on the up side they're a V8, light in comparison to a Yank equivalent ,bit bulkier than some and seem to be a long standing rodders choice if not always their first. I guess because they're cheap and easy to aquire but that's where it ends. Having said that if you've seen one buy it quick before a f*****g banger c**t gets it. Second thoughts, they seem to go for Fords first don't they? got a classic Banger lover on here ask him.

Bumps.....

Chris if your after a engine I may know of a couple

I will see if there still available for you and drop you a message

I know they were bought with the intention of using them in bangers but I think he opted for a Essex engine in the end so these rovers should still be lying about in the unit

Ill see what i can find out for you fella

Had three of them, one was a twin plenum, why did i sell it?..............werent worth jack when i had em, now they can run into a fair chunk of cash if they are clean. My twin plenum Vitesse was a two owner, 70k mile car with history and it was pretty well mint.
Also had 5 other V8's including a mk1 V8S, rare as rockin horse poopydoos now.

Scuse me while i nip upstairs and cry in my pillow.
