Electrical issues and ive had enough as i know jack shyte about them. Buck will go into the garage to be fixed then he will be for sale. 2 grand buys a unique vehicle with an engine which has covered a mere 640 miles since a full rebuild. Along with electric heated leather seats, new Kumho tyres, alloys, disc brake conversion etc etc etc its a hell of a buy. he will be fully fixed, running and back to his normal reliable self. I doubt ill be buying another classic for a while.
that didnt take long for you to decide to sell theres not that much electrical stuff on a beetle...................................do ya really want to sell?????????????
Black wings look good Steve, got them done quick!.... Is this a bit like when you hear people say- 'I'm never having another drink again' What a time to sell up and pull out.....nah not you mate it's in ya blood in ya farts everything. We all get pee'd off with 'em at times, whatever you decide with the bug is up to you but no more! you must be kidding we won't let you go.
Just thought,,,,,,,does this mean you've finally seen the light and gonna buy/build a HOTROD! good man when do we start, I'll throw in a few cool parts.
throw in a complete hot rod jerry an ill just be able to afford it :)
i did get extremely pi$$ed off today i must admit but electrics are my absolute weakest point and i hate anything to do with them other than the absolute basics.

Ugg does look better with the black wings - just like a brooks & wood truck now!!
I'm sure there cant be much wrong with it, as Mark say's theres not a lot of electrics on there.
And as Jerry say's people say i'm never having another drink again - you've just got a hangover mate, give it a day or so and you'll be on the hunt for some other obscure car! there's been several times when i've felt like chucking it all in but it gets in ya blood and you're hands on like most of us so i'm sure you'll get over it!
We had a helluva day today as well steve, as you know, the ball joints are proving to be pigs to deal with, but we will overcome and so will you. Please don't get rid of Buck, cos otherwise whose gonna look after me at car shows. The guys are right take a few days away from him and then have another go. I'll help as much as I can.

Sussed out the problem, it was just two connections to the generator light touching. I cant believe this would affect the running of the car but it drains the batttery and stops the ignition functioning properly. Strange.

no problem fitting us two in it, as long as the radio dont play micheal jackson ha ha, ask chucky about that one.
hahahaha the last time me and Dell were in a truck together and Michael wasanig er i mean Jackson came on Dell smashed the radio to bits before chucking out of the window sending it bouncing across the A14!!
Yeah buck is back to his rumbly noisy self, but berta is still sitting forlornly on axle stands poor old girl.
On a brighter note not too much more work.
Did I really see a for sale sign on Buck or was it an optical illusion, hoping it was the latter cos it will be a great shame if you sell him now steve.

I honestly think that A40 could have been saved. I find it hard to believe its really as bad as he say's, i think he just got fed up with it. Another classic on the scrapheap.......
i let an old triumph 2000 mk2 go to the breakes years ago,id done it up and drove it for 4yrs,but i moved and had no where to keep it so i had to let it go.i look back and relise it was a big misstake i should have let it go for nothing to some one to could have used it .... god im making sound like i got rid of a relative lol.just something to bear in mind when debating losing a classic or custom project.
