Hello all, not been on line for a while been working on the beetle, under pressure to get it ready for the re-paint March 28th ( i've booked time in the spray shop) daughter 2 is putting me under pressure (and she wants a herbie rep too)
Few pics to show the work so far, In a word dont not buy a 66 beetle the running gear is right on the change between drums and discs and parts are always coming wrong and its a 6volt ! A very sold bug, first time ever the only welding was the rep-holes in the wings!
More pis's from today............ worked on the n/s door today new door bottom repaired and cleaned up the sills removed all the old paint work and primed it up!
Blocked the primer down today with a 240, to get the panel's nice a flat, then reprimed had use black as i had run out of white primer found 5lts in the shed result So it will be a quick flat and ready for the re-spray next week,
good weather today, so more work on the bug, spend most of the day on the underside and under the wheel arches, I reckon a good 3 days it should be done!
