i've been offered a Dodge Ram, dont know much about them so thought 'd ask you lot. Its a 1996 4.3 V6, got an LPG conversion fitted and air suspension, seems ok, the body's good. Haven't tried it out yet, but been told it runs well. Got 2 faults with it, the brake light switch needs re-fitting, apparently the clips that hold it in place have snapped but that can't be a big job and its got a drain on the battery, the owner says that when he connects the battery he hears a click from behind the dash, so surely its just a case time involved in sorting that rather than money. Its up for £2,500 but I'm confident I can get it for £2,000 what do you lot think? This is it ere.
£1500 start, 2k top. Bet you get it for £1850 pound notes bein waved around usually does the trick. Does need to be higher too, get the air suspension goin cos it looks strange that low. Nice truck tho, could be a bargain if he aint bullsh*ttin ya. That click could be a relay maybe??? Not electrically minded im afraid. Good luck tho mitch, hope ya get it cheap.

Alright, it was dark and really cold so i said I'd go home and think about it. Trouble is if i get it the Passat's got to go and even though its boring the Passat does 60mpg is very reliable and can seat my family but more importantly, the heated seats are lovely in this weather! So i've gotta decide whether to give that up or not, If i was working it would be mine, but maybe I got to put my sensible hat on at the mo. I told him I'd call today, I reckon I could get it for £1800 - £1900, it would be handy for carrying the bike but thats probably going to be sold when i get it finished too. It does drive well, the back goes up ok. The LPG seems ok. Most importantly though, it does fit on my driveway!
I wouldn`t touch it without an Auto Electrician checking it out first. It seems cheap enough but that`s gotta be for a reason....n I reckon the reason will be the repair bill. You`ve got to ask yourself how much can you afford to lose ?.
Get the grinder n welder out n trim the Passat to suit !

The faults dont sound like rocket science to me mitch. Tracing the drain is not to bad.The trick i always use is to put a meter across the battery then pull a fuse at a time until the reading goes up. This way you can at least trace it to a specific circuit. One to check is the glove box light on the dodges often overlooked and often still on when the glovebox lid is shut!!.You can get away with mounting a universal brake light switch on the pedal.Believe it or not i use austin mini ones a lot nice and simple. Hope this helps you decide...
