The east coast pirates are thinking of having a big club meet etc at the Gt Yarmouth diner on Sunday 3rd may ( bank holiday weekend ) their should be a BBQ , music, and things to do and see . We have got a meeting with David and Michael from the diner sometime next week to discuss it. It will be a case of advertising, and getting a good carpark and prom full of motors. Some of you will remember last may bank holiday ( we were stuck for space ) so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please give us a call or post on the site. So please keep that date free and lets start the summer by putting all the yanks rods and classics on the map. cheers for now Steve. We will keep everybody informed...................
Providing my cars on the road id like to come to this, Been a while since I been in yarmouth ( used to live there ) would be good to return to my old haunts and have a few soft drinks with some mates
i'll put this date in me diary might have to juggle a few things about but try to make it can i reserve a parking place for me truck is there any chance of parking along the prom???
Coooooooooarse you can mate, we still have to have a meeting with the owners to decide where and how to park everyone + loads of other things, but when it,s all sorted it will be advertised everywhere ( hopefully ) and this "WILL " go ahead unlike last years weekend show ( the main orginiser is not involved this time ) but some of you know it,s a great place to meet for a chat sightseeing, burger etc, so we will do our best to make it memorable for everyone, and would also like to make it an anual event, same time every year, thanks for the interest and will keep you informed, cheers Steve.
Still waiting for the bloody Gt Yarmouth Tourism people to get back to me, but rest assured us and the diner really want this to happen, and as an anual event too...................+ we are trying to get a local radio station involved too, to broadcast live from the seafront etc.
Well here we go!!!!!!!!!!! the Gt Yarmouth tourism people have now spoken to me, and we are not aloud to park along the beach side !! but can still fill the diner carpark, it only takes one well paid person high up in Gt Yarmouth to say no and thats it, so we are still going ahead with the meet on the 3rd May but it won,t be quite as big as we thought, i reckon we could get around 60 cars on the carpark if they were parked properly, so thats the plan as far as we know, so it,s still on and should still be a good day. Now heres the good bit, Gt Yarmouth tourism are originising a mega mega show on the 20th September this envolves shutting the seafront off to all through traffic, and putting hundreds of show vechiles there instead, loads of attrations and things to do, this will be huge, so we are going to aid the tourism people to make this a big anual success, more details will follow but this will be a must !!! so to sum up our 3rd May meet is still on ( but not as big as we would like ), and the 20th Sept is going to be the best thing Yarmouth seafront has seen for years. All the local clubs will be invited along with adds in classic american, american car world etc, + all the relitive web sites i can think of, cheers for now Steve.
i'll be up for it Steve, sounds like it'll be a great day,by the way,why is the other show held towards October??? less holiday makers, more chance of bad/cold weather etc?? look at the NATS for example, its 3-4 weeks earlier and can be dodgy,i'm positive if that one was earlier it would attract a great deal more cars (i'm not knocking it as i know it will still be a good 'un im sure,)

Yes i agree with that towards october could be dodgy, but Yarmouth Council know best lol, it would be better in May when we were trying to do it, + our May one is a bank holiday too, but there really is no talking to the Council ! I,m sure they will both be good, even if ours is much smaller .
Good idea dell, the essex boys can meet up then cruise on down to the truck stop which is on route and meet us suffolk boys, then we can all cruise together! easy
