Not suprised to hear WH Smith's hadn't got any Cd's or DVD's. I know I've been out of music retail nearly 9 years, but they were losing music sales then.

Subscribe, it's cheaper (must remember to sort that out for Mike!) I could tell you in Ipswich where to get it from, but that's no use to you.

Anyone who buy's it every month would be nuts not to get it delivered!

Holland & Barrett always do their 70% off bargains, have done for several years now. HMV I was told had the best Xmas since I worked there and Zavi ..... well all know about Zavi: consummer confidence there is rock bottom.

M&S and Debenhams are talking about cutting staff, probably just getting rid of the xmas temps and the dead wood.

The price of VW campers was silly, Dez sold his ratty one a year ago and was able to buy his Model A project, a Commer camper and still had change left over.

Stevie, nice comment. giggle.gif I shouldn't laugh but that was clever.

Looks like M&S are closing their small food stores, like the one at the services near Peterborough, you know the ones that just sell food. Shame.

This credit crunch will I believe continue for another two years before we see a recovery.
Thee are more retail, manufacturing & service businesss to go,some will be a surprise & some will not.
There are very  few companies that have a 6 month war chest of funds to pay all their running costs & that includes redundancy payouts too.

The basics are that if a business cannot generate an income to pay all it`s bills each month & the Bank won`t allow an overdraft then it`s poo time.........same applies with home economics as well, except there is a tad of help but not enough to always keep the house.

I reckon that the VAT reduction is a waste of time,so is a reduced interest rate......
What is needed is jobs....
1   If the Government introduced a Social Housing building programme the job market would start again. These houses would be 3 bed semi with garage & garden front & back.....and would never be available for sale to tenants. This simple plan will have a knock on effect all the way up.

2   The only people that would be eligible for these jobs would be those that have references/background from a UK based society.(It`s not racist,it`s survival ,it`s looking after ya own first)

3    This recession will continue until all debts are reduced to nil by everyone, there`s no way you can spend your way out of a recession.I suggest that all Credit Card companies write off all the debts immediately. That all banks put a Manager in each branch,a sensible chap that knows his customers & isn`t driven by sales targets to sell morgages & loans.
4      Nuff said,bollox!
