Hope you all had a great xmas, we did under the circumstances and so did Ian pressies and all but no turkey this year for him! Just to update you as I have said about visits. His consultant has decided that we cant wait for his valve replacement until he is 100% fit, therefore he will be going to Barts on Sunday 28th December for surgery on the 29th ironic as that will be the month anniversary of when he went into hospital. He is amazing at the moment though as on Xmas eve he was hoisted into a bed chair, where he lifted head and back away from the chair, he moved his left toes and just wanted to get up!! he is now off the ventilator and has been for 48hrs. yesterday he started to get emotional and frustrated and fed up although upsetting to see, this is a great improvement and means he is well on the mend mentally. he still has an awful cough to clear his chest infection but he is coping well with that, yesterday he moved his whole left leg, so he is pretty determined to be able to drive again. We are over the moon at his progress these last few days and today they hopefully ae going to cap his tracky thingy so he can talk to us. The op is very risky and I cant tell you how nervous we are but his strength and his bloody determination gives me faith in him. thank you all so much for your support. Julie xxx
All the best on monday with the op, i'm sure everything will be fine in the end. It must be very frustrating for him but tell him to keep his chin up we'll see him soon.
A lot of positive info there Julie, We're so glad to hear that and thoughts are with you all. We don't know you very well but at times like this we need to pull together so hang in there, Shrek sounds a tough 'ol feker, he'll be telling us all the stories come summer. Left leg! tell him that's no bloody good, needs the right leg for accelerator/ brakes. what's the Camaro, auto I think (girly) left leg good for clutch tho'
