may have also picked up another car for donors in which case ill raid the parts i need of  other one and race the donors knackered bodyshell and engine

heres pics soz its in the garage but batterys flat and i couldnt be assed to push it out as weathers crappy here too !

Windows out, Headlining needs replacing you can see the little ammount of rot in the boot and bodypanels to the rear, front ends fibrerglass so no rot there, sills been done already aswell as floorpan

That doesn't look too bad, especially when you fink how old it is.
You've got to expect some rust, after all this is England not a nice dry American state!
Pity you didnt use it as it was for a little while before you pulled it to bits. Personally i would have covered it in red oxide and used it for a while doing a running resto.

Was worried when i took the screens out that there would be no metal to support putting the new seals back in, I could have got away with the old rubbers on there but they were so perished theres no point me doing a nice fresh satin paintjob and leaving crappy rubbers on there for the sake of 60quid

Is it legal to drive about without bumpers ?

There's no law stopping you from driving without bumpers, i removed the front bumper off my consul. I also didnt have bumpers on my pop as a lot of people dont, however if you remove the bumpers make sure you remove the brackets as well!
As for a small block, of course its possible but it wouldnt exactly be a weekends work....no

Bumpers?... not sure what they are...wait a minute, do you mean me and my  lot ??  yeah your alright without us. There's a lot of grey areas within the construction and use regulations for all old cars. this is an often discussed topic on hotrod forums , fenders (wings) etc. even front number plates. Run it how you like it, bumpers are not a legal issue.
Fink you're gettin a little ambitious thinking 'bout a smallblock in it but hey anythings possible. Like the sound of rattle can black with white roof, have you got 'dog dish' caps on the wheels? if so keep them with a wild wheel colour and you're away. Think best advice as already given is run it without getting in too deep, you may see something else soon, been there.

Hey bumper

Yer i got the dogbowl chrome covers and also the chrome bands, although there like the rest of the chrome and need cleaning up, smallblocks a little adventurous atm but would be good if could get one in there at some point, for the price i paid on the car would be no major hardship if it went wrong and would be worth a gamble ! Also it would prob go like a rocket as there light old cars, Wheels are white atm ? Dunno wether to paint them black or leave them as they are, Maybe a bright colour like a green or something was thinking about pinstripes also

Fi

Thanks will take a look at the pics on facebook

Will keep yall updated on progress and thanks again

Pete
