its struck me again, i found her and had to buy her!!
Another mid sixty's beetle Knocked the back end down by 2 splines over the weekend, Picking up the lowered spinndles this weekend from Brum to get the front down to match. found a rear towel rail bumper, looking for a cheap front one.
drives well ( for a Beetle) going to try and keep hold onto this one as its my favour colour on bugs.
Nice bug mate always wanted one myself but worried about the work involved as most need floor/chassisrails etc although did have aq fibreglass beach buggy once with a aircooled engine in it, went like stink over the dunes
Would love one, maybe when the A40's done will see how things go, would like a Baja style or a wizard roadster, Although I do get wood everytime i go to the copdock bikeshow and see the American Style trikes with the Dub aircooled engines all shiny and chromed up !!
back lowered, drop spindles put on the front today, removed the hub caps to help with the look, I will post a few more pics next weekend when its back on its wheels ( fingers crossed) (Just need to pick up new bearing next week)
towel rails going on, thats really it for the mom, dont know if i will paint it yet as its still shinny..........OMG paint
I know every tool i need (couple of sockets, 3 spanners and a screwdriver) to get the engine out an just get on with it. Thats the good thing about me bug truck, just like a buggy the engine is hangin outside an takes seconds to get out without jackin the car up at all. Superb.
