New work motor

Well been thinking for a while now about getting something a little more interesting as a work vehicle. Have had a few US pickups for this in the past a nd enjoyed driving something 'different' every day. This came up recently and I swung a swap for a '70s US pickup I had that had been sitting unused for sometime. Winter plans are for a Jag front, Trans Am posi rear axle and a good 'ol Transit diesel + 5 speed box.Oh and yes I'll change the paint and the wheels. I have most of the parts I need lying around so not much expendature needed mainly time .For a daily hauler and general work hack whaddaya think?? (it's a 1960 Ford F250 van, US spec) very solid, looks like it came out the desert somewhere by the amount of sand in it. Just wish I had got it before that hidious pant job, ah well nothing a few rattle cans can't fix! and gallons of old oil to help preserve it.

Hi Steve, shame we didn't meet up at the drive-in We were with Mike and Fi but when they conked out at the gate after helping them push the Fairlane to one side I got moved along by marshals battling with an ever increasing row of vehicles, you must have met up with them once inside.
The paint on the van is not of great quality and although I'm not a man that likes paint at the best of times I just feel the colours used aren't really in keeping with the age, it probably looks more so with the van in front of you than in pictures plus they've put paint lines where there's no body lines to follow which just looks pants to me.

ideai'm sure if you want it age related we could soon knock it about a bit that way you would'nt have to worry about the rattle cans
