Bought a 125 Honda abuut 6 months ago just to buzz to work and back on. Extremely reliable and and over 90 to the gallon. so i promised myself not to tamper with it and just use it...... Well it never works out like that does it! This is how i got it, This is it after a couple of weeks (the whitewall paint washed off soon after) A couple of weeks after that Now
Took the tank and mudguard in to the sprayers the other day (freebie from a mate) and not sure what way to go. Do I go traditional black and flames (all gloss with professional flames) which is very stereotypical BUT thats cos it still looks good. Or something else? Any ideas? Dunno where i'm gunnu put the L Plates though!!! Also, I found a lovely air filter in the shed the other day, must have bought it for a car project and not used it, so bunged it on. What do you think?
That is one awesome looking 125 ! I love it !! You thought about getting the tank chromed ??and maybe a pressed metal Yellow/Black Plate ? or even a white/black plate ( Although wouldnt be legal ) would make it look like one of the Exile chops ( you could even goast some flames onto the chrome maybe ? ) And some longer sit up and beg style handlebars with some nice chrome levers and bargrips

The old plate is going back on, but I've gotta mot it soon so that yellow monstrosity has got to stay till then. The plan is really to mix old and new. Its always going to be a modern jap 125 so i cant take it too seriously but its a good way to practice my bike modifying (its my first). I was going to go black and flames but now i've decided to give it an old british bike style paint job, based on an early 50's bsa, I want the paint to look aged and after searching google I found a bike I love, If i can get my one to look anything like it even from a mile away squinting on a dark foggy night I'll be happy, I've designed a badge tank too....... Will Have a look see what I got in there mate, you after a round lucas style one or a rectangular one ? i think i got one off a old YB100 yammy and a square one off a Zaki 500 that i stripped for parts in my early teens

Like i said mate ill have a look in a couple of weeks, cant gaurentee its deffo there but i seem to remember putting a box with some bike parts in there
I seem to remember breaking up 2 x YB100 1x VFR400 1xRXS 100 1x CG125 3x Honda Scooters ( cities/melodys) 1950's raleigh peddle and pop 2x KTM Crossers PW50 Scrambler DT125 Scrambler
I used to use them on the fields and used the KTM's as offroaders Ill see what I got kicking about in there so long as my old dear hasnt lobbed them out
Got the tank and mudguard back from the painters today, then dropped the mudguard on the floor and dented it!!! So thats being re-done, here's the tank in place though.....
Looks nice mate, not keen on the tank personally but thats the thing with modification/customisation you put your own stamp on it
I still like your original satin tank with the white stripe and the whitewalls think that looks the nuts, but im a fan of satin black now ! so prob why

To be honest I'm not too sure about the paint style, not really my thing but my mate didn't charge me soo i told him to do whatever he thinks to it. I'm going to put it up for sale when done as I'm now officially skint and hopefully this nice shiny paint job will help ity sell on e-bay. I've bought another one now though which is exactly the same bike so once this one's gone I'll build the new one up as a keeper. Just got to get the back mudguard on now then wire it all up.

Dunno yet, got to get the rear mudguard on, put it back together, get new rear light, fork seals need doing, then MOT. I'll work out a price then let you know. I just cant wait to see it done myself!

okay. so im not all that little anymore.. but i am 17 and jobless!
and as nice as it would be to get one of my cars on the road, i dont have the money. and i need(ed) a form of transport to get me out of my town to look for jobs.
i am now riding around on a little 4 stroke 50cc moped thing thats on a loan program thing. its driving me insane! restricted to 30, everything takes twice as long. its a 50 min ride from my house to college.
also, it broke down on the way there today!! good thing i had a screwdriver and a bit of sense...
for me, bikes would be better, for now. as its a load cheaper to insure / mot/ tax/ generally run. and this way, i can afford driving lessons. and then on to mot and tax for the polo...
and to have this thing, well, it looks the absolute nuts in my opinion. and would be an absolute pleasure to ride around for me.
When I started building it I planned to make it the ultimate custom 125. During the build all I keep saying is 'if Honda made bikes that look like this out of the factory they'd sell millions of them. I did use it to commute last summer on a 35 mile round trip (southend to basildon and back) and it was great, it averaged 90mpg and sits at 60 on the a127, its not a sports bike though so will only do 65 flat out. Tax is £15 a year, i dont know what insurance would be for you but it was £95 for me, but then I am a little older than you.....Ok, 23 years older! Its only done 9,000 miles though so the engine is still very good. It would stand out from the other 125's out there! Hopefully will get the mudguard on tomorrow too.
Might look a bit big on it, I'm 5ft 10 and feel a bit big. This is me on it yesterday, got the rear mudguard and light on now. Going outside in a minute to connect brakes and wire it up.
Got stuck in to it today, the weather was on my side. Just got the indicators, brake light and a bit of detailing to do. Getting excited now! Cant wait to see the local bikers when they realise its a 125! Its shocked a few people on the BritChopper forum already.
