Wanted Classic/Yank Beyond Resto For Banger Racing

Hey guys

Im looking for a Classic/Yank Thats either a unwanted/unloved or unfinished project/abandoned wreck or WHY ?

The car must be rolling ( Minimum Requirement ) And have all body panels present, preferably a RWD unless running ( as can drop a pinto in )

Brakes/Interior/Electrics/Glass not important and seller can have any other interior parts back when its stripped for racing

I will pay upto £200 for a running classic or £300 for a yank

Condition of bodypanels must be straightish but not spectacular

Let me know what you have lying about

pete@cruisecentral.co.uk

Cheers

Pete

don't think you will have a lot of luck on this one, a lot of us would rather see them drag raced than roundy roundy having the crap beaten out of them.

Fairplay, im not after the ones that can be restored or made into drag warriors

Im after all the crap that gets stuck in a corner and forgotten about mate

And to be fair if your selling a car, what does it matter where it goes or what happens to it so long as the price you want is met ??
Ok fair enuff if its a heirloom or youve spent hours lovingly restoring it but im not after those kind of cars !

sometimes people restoring/customizing these old cars of ours need the ones that are forgotten about in the back of a garage. it might be a bag of nails but could still have better parts/panels than the one we are working on .

i have nothing against banger racing but suggest if you want one to smash up instead of do up , you'r on the wrong site.

I agree that some of the panels etc will be of use to you

But id also like to point out that Many of the Banger boys make parts available to vehicle restorers at affordable prices because many of the parts we dont need would otherwise be thrown in the bin

I personally would not race a car unless I believed it was Unworthy of a resto

I love to see things like the mk2 jags on the road where they belong, Sadly yes a lot of them do end up raced because people do I suppose forget about them

However there are the select few of us out there that are prepared to race rotten shells with almost nothing left and spend the time welding them up to a racing standard, Whereas roadwise they may be financially unviable

I hope this changes your views slightly

If anyone has a vehicle that needs wings/etc and im racing one with straight panels, then I have no issues in swapping/trading the straight panels on my racecar for the ones that are rotten or bent on the car being restored

I see it as a way of recycling, Banger boys race empty shells basically

All the interior and other parts that are the main things that are harder to source get stuck in skips ! Well not with me, they get put on ebay or advertised on owners clubs at affordable prices

Cheers

Pete
