Just found out about a show on the 8th June at Ben****ers, have Emailed one of the organisers and waiting on a reply but there's more info on the East Coast Pirates site. Looks like they want rods and yanks to attend. Someone else on here may have more up to date info than this but will post more as I find out. Hey will there be an 'April fools run' this year at the B52?? after the success of the first one last year things need to be well in motion by now if it's gonna happen! Mr P????
Obviously someone thinks I'm trying to say T W A T in Bendywaters, let's just split that up and say- Bent waters!! you local boys know where I mean. Try that
Hi Everyone, I am organising an open day at the Ben****ers Cold War Museum on Sunday June 8th this year & wanted to ask if anyone from the club would be interested in attending. Ben****ers is a former RAF/American air force base near Woodbridge & was home to the A-10 'Warthog' tankbusters during the 1980's & we have created a museum on base about the history of the airfield (& RAF Woodbridge) I have sent out invites to two other local car clubs who have american & modified cars as we should have some russian vehicles attending from Oxfordshire who are doing a tour of East Anglia that weekend,so i thought if we had some American & Russian(& British) vehicles together it would fit in well with the cold war theme of the museum. It would be static display only as the airfield itself is out of bounds although there should be airfield tours in place to view the bomb proof hangers,ex nuclear bomb dump,QRA barns etc Woodbridge air training corp are providing a BBQ & a cafe onsite will be open as well as the museum & we are hoping for a Spitfire display in the afternoon. This is the first time for me to organise something like this & i'm 'bricking it' !! as you dont realise how much there is to think of.
sounds like a good day out. No mention of mersea madnes this year I know I have been silent for a while but does anyone know if this is going on this year. Chris good luck
Just opened an Email from Ben T W A T ers museum stating that as they have invited several clubs to attend they are now concerned over numbers as it seems car show space will be limited. Because of that there is now a limit of 12 vehicles per club and I have been asked to sort this out for Tspeed so I need to know who deffo wants to come. I guess I gotta do the list on a first come first serve basis so names please. As for just turn up on the day I dunno, not been told but will ask as you may not get in, let me find out first or Email direct and find out that way. Whether we cruise up together as a club/group (don't think this is a club is it?) or whatever is open to suggestions and I will keep all informed as I hear more. Bumper.
If I'm correct, they couldn't get the go ahead from the local council. After the sad death a couple years ago up there, they have been really careful about allowing cars shows on the Ben****ers site.
Hi Everyone, I am the one organising the event at Ben****ers & we are definitely going ahead, the museum is away from the main part of the airfield so should be no problems. So if you fancy showing your vehicle off & have a burger etc (sorry no beer tent) on an ex Cold War airbase give us a look, now that i have registered on this forum if you could let me know if you want to come along i will book your vehicle in. For more info see www.bcwm.org.uk Below is information that i sent out to the other clubs. Cheers - Graham

Right everyone lets try and organise something here!!!
We have 12 spaces to fill.
I know some people are planning to leave a little earlier as there is a charity event that some of Turtlespeed have promised to go to, but they can come here first!!
Who is going, where are we going to meet up, what time and who is bringing the banner?
good luck trying to sort it now, i cant make it - i can probably make the charity do later tho. shame, i wanted to go but was told it not going ahead -made other plans- then told it is going ahead! reckon it'll be tight to do both in one day tho?
We're going so could meet up, it's a short cross country route for us tho' so maybe meet there or close by. just say a time/ place to meet if going in as a group. Failing that I guess we just mention TS on the gate and see you in there?
all being well i'll give it a look so if you want to meet up say a time and a place there is no time saying what time the gates open???? if you need to get hold of me no. 07979944786
Thankyou to you guys who attended our event today i hope you enjoyed it, i think it went pretty well for a first attempt with plenty of different things for people to look at - aircraft, cars, tanks, fire engines, harleys etc I've got a sun burnt face but what the heck, got a beer in my hand & start thinking about next year !! Cheers - Graham
Was a lovely sunny day, did the bus trip out to the hangars, pity the driver didn't slow down a bit at several places of interest and would have liked the guide to have chatted a bit more about what the US did there as well as current usage of facilities. But worth the ride anyhow.
