anyone got a Running Rover V8, in Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex area, I have about £100 , I've found one in Reading but If I can source one closer to home then that'd be a lot better!
Cheers mr bowtie, I'll take a look. I think I've come to the conclusion that I had bitten off more than I could chew with the lumps in my garage :(
hopefully I'll be out by next years Nats, though with my current work rate I don't know if I'll ever get done
If anyone want's to help I can offer £50 a month as an incentive and as much beer as you can drink (except if you are a fat boy who drinks like a fish)
hi wot wrong with v8s you got ? does it have to be a rover v8 cant you use a pinto or other 4 pot ? my a pick ups got a pinto and that goes ok and me t buckets got 1500cc prex flow as there cheaper to run and buy cheers mick
Hi Mick , I'm short on funds (very short) so rebuilding was going to cost me more than trying to get one thats already running, I need all new gaskets, new plugs and leads , most probably a new dizzy, timing chain looks a bit loose, water pump looks badly corroded etc etc etc. . . . . . .
doesn't really need to be a V8 i'd just like one, and I've already got an RV8 gearbox (LT77) in place.
I was half tempted by getting another diesel lump, as it's never going to be raced , I'd just like it to move. It's been 10 months now without it moving out of the garage :(
hi martin if you get it on giong again at least you can use it rover v8s are dear to rebuild as ive been there thats why i just use 4 pots i have just as much fun as you have seen me i can use as daily driver and the a pick up tows me t bucket on me trailer to rod runs dont any of your club members help each other out ? me and my mates helpeach other out mick
I can't fault the club, every time I've needed help i've had offers, and have been able to borrow equipment off of some, they are all a friendly bunch. My major problem is cash, and i certainly don't expect handouts. I'll get there eventually, i'm only 23, so even a project is more than a lot of people my age can afford. I'll keep an eye out for V8's that come up at a reasonable price , or if I can find a cheap-ish engine and box, I'll consider anything even another diesel lump. I've found a V8 in Reading, just don't know how to get it home , something will come along, and I'm sure I'll be out and about next season.

On wot basis do you feel you need to make a comment Mick. As Martin said, lots of people have helped and have offered to help him. ~Your comments are completely unjustified.

mr popular i was just asking martin if he got help as i met him at boreham with parts he wanted and like to help out other rodders as thats wot we do so why poke your nose in lol
I am going to the nats but only on the public day unfortunately . I'm hopefully going to be on for a V8 thats in Reading, If not I'll just keep my eyes peeled . I'll consider anything hefty enough to pull the truck to be honest Mick , though if it's not going to fit the gearbox, I'll be needing one of those too.
looked at a toyota celica engine and box , but didn't act quick enough as I wasn't sure wether it would be ok. It sold pretty quickly.
I'll take any suggestions now , I can always do the V8 upgrade in a few years when I have more money to play with.
hi martin when i started at 15 years old i had a consul capri then moved on to pops with 1300cc x flow up to 455 olds then moved on to a model pick up rover v8 now gone back to smaller engines but am still having fun is your pick up heavy ? wot about 2.8 v6 from granda ? mick
