I finally have gotten off my backside to put up some posts, life has been very hectic the last couple of months!
As you all know I put a nice hole in the block of the 360 Mopar, and in March this year, we got a new block, new valves ( I dropped a valve too) and a stroker kit and we put together a temporary engine to finish off the season here in Melbourne.
New temp engine works really well, my hubby has a new PB of 9.49 @ 142 mph. The smarty pants is beating me for the moment, and as I am 20 weeks pregnant, I cannot race till after bubby is born so I can't get in the car in kick his ass!! hahahahaha......... sob..... I do miss racing!
He raced the LS1 nationals a few months ago and came runner up, we were stoked, no broken bits and no oil leaks either. We have one more meeting on 25th August, I will keep you posted on this one.
We finally got the conrods for the new engine, and hopefully this will be completed by end of July this year and we can do a transplant. But in the meantime here are some piccys of the temp Mopar!
wow nice lookin car mrs mopar, im slowly (very slowly) building a dart for the strip, its good to see other moparites on her. good luck with the baby (how long before he/she has a race car)
Thanks for the comment! What type of Mopar are you building? Are there piccys of your dart on the forum somewhere??
I reckon that bubby will have a hotted up trike if my husband has his way, maybe even rev up the cot too! ha ha in our house anything is possible really!
We had an unfortunate issue with the Corty the other week at a test and tune, as Hubby was backing off after the traps and jumped on the brakes, the whole front end shook violently, he had to shift down to 1st at 6000 rpm and had to do some 4wdriving across the grass to make it to the return road. turns out that after awhile one of the bars that attach to the steering rack had broken, causing the front left wheel to flop around after 10km ph. ALot of wheelstands may have contributed to this we think!
We have had this re welded and reinforced, but we need to fix the tyrod arm I think as she is a little bent, we were lucky to find one off a mark 1 escort so this week hubby will be busy fitting the new part so we can get it aligned and get it race ready.
