Bitzer's Bikes Broke!!!

There I was carefully cleaning the bike at the weekend, polishing all the shiny bits and I notice a  major crack round the headstock.

Filler removed to reveal sight of the inside of the down tubes which are not really connected to the headstock. Somehow I don't think it will pass the MOT at the end of the month like that!crycry

Time to get the grinder and welder out when I'm not organising the Felixstowe Run and not trying to move house - next year it is then................furious

New stronger gusset plate between the down tubes and some careful welding - at least I will know it is done properly when I've finished. smile

Just better check the rest of the bike for filler! hmm

Can't make Mersey or Barking as planned this weekend!

RE: Bitzer's Bikes Broke!!!

Just ridden it home from Sniper's and all appears to be OK smilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmile

As you can see from below there was a double tube to the headstock (once I'd removed all the filler!!!)

Thanks Brov wink
