Yes siree, polished the 'ol gal, re cut the tires, got the chickens out the engine bay, moved the immigrants out the buck, got a battery from the threshing machine and got the truck fired up! Will get some new oil from the stove tommorra and fresh water from the well and she'll be fine'n dandy.Still runnin'a little rough on that kerosene mix but she'll get used to it. I re fitted the seat as that had been on the porch all winter, damn tirmites have gotten in the frame now, granma still needs the steerin' wheel for her clothes ringer but I'll get it back b4 the show. Might sport me a new pair of them there short breeches just for the occasion! Y'all take care now and Mr necktie don't take any notice 'bout what they say 'bout you because they ain't got any proof!!!!
Hey I almost forgot......I restrung ma banjo too so Dell you can cut a rug just as good as before.....you 'ol varmit you, you never could resist a good fiddle!!

Sorry I know feckall 'bout diesels to help out so if you don't get sorted you're welcome to ride with us. Either in the Ford F150 with Ruth and the dogs or with me and Luke in the Hudson, it's noisy, drafty, uncomfortable, no heater or tunes, we ride with the windows down ALL the time and it's a **** load of fun. But I'm sure you'll get a better offer from others on here with posh comfy boring things so just remember we're here but I expect you'll call as a last resort if you're really stuck.
Either way mate you'll be there, let's just hope it's under your own steam.

I've decided I'm going to give my overdraft a hammering, I'll get some new glow plugs to see if that helps my starting issues, and a case of easy start. I'll let you know how I get on, hopefully I'll be able to get an MOT on 24th if all goes well this weekend. If it comes to it I'll pop down in my daily.

Bastard Glow plugs havn't arrived :( hope they get here tomorrow morning. I'm convinced that if I can get her started then I am pretty much ready for an MOT on things that I can do, if it fails it'll be something major that I won't have the skills/money to fix, but everything looks/feels solid and all brakes and lights etc work.

I'm hoping I'm just being over cautious as this is my first MOT with an old modified vehicle.......I'll relax a bit when I know either way.

that manifold is exactly as it came off, in 3 bits, must be something to do with 'ford power!'

i would like to say a quick thank you to the turtlespeeder who turned out saturday to help fit my manifolds (or fanimolds as chucky likes to call them).
i would have to say that chucky has never let  me down when i have needed a hand ,and bowtie turned out as well, bless him.
but i feel owen deserves a special mention as , he was the only person there who was thin enough to slide under the zephyr and do up the bottom bolts.
thanks guys!

No luck yet Glowplugs still havn't arrived. I'm getting a little bit fed up now, just wan't to hear it go so I know I'm not wasting my time on it. Hopefully one night this week if the glowplugs arrive. Battery is on charge again and the Mazda is at the ready to provide an extra boost if needed. Got a couple of cans of easy start and we rocked it back and forth in gear just to get it freed up a bit (longshot) . I don't reckon I'm gonna make it down in the truck though if truth be told.........bugger!

Thanks for the offers ,they really are appreciated. I might have to take you up on them if I can't get it going this week. The plugs have arrived this morning. so I'll be fitting them tonight. I'll be trying to start tomorrow once the battery has been put on charge again. I'll let you know how I get on. wish me luck.

I'm probably going to pull a sicky if I get it started so I can try to get it MOT'd before 31st March .

PS anyone got any old PAS hose laying around, need about a meter, If not I'll pop down to Pirtek on Saturday.

the zephyr passed its mot this morning with flying colours (thanks nick )
so you can count me in for the B52.
i did have a bit of trouble locating a non return valve for the washer bottle .all the car parts people i spoke to had nothing..so i went to " happi pets" and bought one they use in ..aqura...aquariu...fish tanks !! works a treat.
now theres gotta be a joke in there somewhere .
