Theres a guy i work with got a SD1 lump and auto box for sale Engine needs rebuild but is apparently complete think he is after £125 or something like that !
its in Ardleigh near Colchester. Apparently was an excellent runner ( arent they all ! ) until it just stopped ? The inlet manifold gasket is bent the wrong way now as you look through the valley section. How or why i m not sure. ill hav a chat with the guy this week and see if i can take a look at it or at least get some more info.
Right its out of a B reg SD1 with twin carbs and GM auto trans Apparently turns over but will not start. It had a bottom end rumble and when it stopped the guy just pulled it and stuck another lump in. The ally inlet gasket is apparenty bowed up wards in the inlet valley ? how or why or if its relevant i dont no ?! So it did run It did turn over before it was removed and theres no holes in the block etc. Needs stripping and rebuild. Motor and trans offers around £150 If your up for it i can put you in touch with him direct ?
I`ve been lookin on the bay for a V8 n box so I can modernise the Humble a bit.....`ave been watching a Rover p6 that was T & T n could be driven home......It sold for 285 GBP (sorry,I`ve only got $ on this keyboard)....The point is that if ya buy a ready runner you can gauge the engine n gearbox condition plus ya get all the brackets n fiddly bits all to-gether and then you can part out the remainder back on the Bay.
