well ive bought all my `bits n pieces` im going satin/mat black all over with gloss black flames, very low, full moon wheel covers, cadillac rear lights, and leopardskin interior. my engine is running with hardly any oil pressure, so very soon will cough to a halt.... bring in the v8. does anyone know how easy it might be, what mods are needed cos we want to collect up the bits to make it `quick n easy` [ famous last words ] maybe if anyone knows of anyone who`s done a similar swap they could put me in touch with them, cheers
well done fi, you are good! do you know them? we are hoping to mate a snipe gearbox up to the v8 with minor modification, using a hybrid bell housing and modified clutch centreplate, it`ll be a standard v8 not a mental blown lump, i`m an officer at a residential home, dont want to wake em all up at the end of my shift!
Rootes built some in the sixties with 260 small block Fords in them as a top of the range thing. The project was cancelled when Chrysler bought Rootes.
Sorry honey but they were Chrysler V8's and the project was actually cancelled due to fuel consumption. I am told by our resident Humber club treasurer that they made prototypes and had done all the promotional leaflets, but was canned at the last minutes.
I know that they did the Imperial and the Sceptic, but didn't think the Hawk or Super Snipe was done, but I can check if anyone is really interested.
