Right I'll consider myself 'told' then, no sicknotes allowed I see. Who can get a battery to Ipswich or PM me where you live so I can come and get it, I'll happily travel to get my truck back on the road and pay for the battery with cash or Beer.
Ps anyone got a spare Lucas switch I can buy ? 3 way chrome toggle switch, or just the chrome nut that holds the switch in place as I dropped it somewhere.

More info on MOT stations Chuckypop?
cheers.
Should have the switch you need, I'll PM you probably tommorrow when I've had a chance to look Bumper......
I think I'm nearly back on track thanks to you Turtlespeeders ! some of the friendliest folk on the planet.
Quick Update,
I'm highest bidder on a PAS pump @ a crazy £7, I'm picking up a battery from Chuckypop (Tony), Hopefully at teh weekend and I need to sort out buying a switch off Bumper (Jerry, I'll call him tonight)
then It's ready to book in to CVS or Airspeed tyre and exhaust , whichever will get it in first,
then If all is well, I'll be along on the cruise!!!!!!!!!
If not then I am tempted to come down anyway in my Mazda (dont worry , I'll park it out of the way so as to not show you up with it's sheer awesomeness)
Phsyco the switches are free mate, if they get you going again thats good enough for me. I don't live far from Chucky so perhaps we could meet up at the weekend. Glad to read you're nearly there. Bumper...........
Hey Mitch, just seen that you've been busy on the NSRA site promoting our show, well done that man! looks like plenty of feedback and interest from there and I got a good feelin' it's gonna be big..
bloody hell dell !!!!! better send him a doctor ? he's obviously unwell .................. watch out for the symptoms !!!!! clammy hands, cold sweats ........ I reckon it's the adverse effect of wearing those shorts in cold weather ???? ha.ha.
We have said the show starts at 11 but me and mitch will be there at 10. What about the rest of you? Should Turtlespeed as a group be there before everyone else? It is our show after all!!!

I think we should all be there by at least 10.30 to enable all our vehicles to be parked together...
i suggest the ipswich and surronding area's lot meet at tesco's garage copdock at 9-15 for a 9-30 kick-off and join up with others on the way down to saarrfend.
Have passed some flyers onto us autocare up in akle and also looks like a few boys from the pontiac owners club are gonna nip by, also advertised this to iceni.
yes 9.15 is ok but we should make it 9.15 when we actually leave copdock, a cruise to southend is easily going to take an hour and a half with a stop at Colchester, which would mean getting there about 10.45? personally i would have said leave earlier say 9.00 leave copdock, but if you all wanna lay in bed longer then fine by me!
chuckypop wrote: spark? carb? i thought it was a diesel engine you got in there psycho? is it turning over ok? good luck anyway, and get that MOT booked!

Yeah it's a Diesel. it's turning over and the plugs are all hot. I'll get some easy start and try it again. if not then I dunno what to do next. I'm sure I've hand primed it enough and it sounds like it's turning fast enough, I had it started once last week, for about 5 seconds before it cut out, though I think that was because I hadn't primed it enough. Problem is with having to keep turning it over I keep draining the battery. I've been connecting it up to my Mazda and revving the nuts off it to boost the battery. . No point in booking MOT if I can't start the fecker don't know enough about diesels to know what to do next, any ideas?
Hey mr Bowtie, no to the first one, yes to the second. I didn't think I'd have to bleed the injectors as I thought I had bled any air out via the fuel filter. I pumped it until it ran clear of any bubbles. I've ordered new glow plugs, just in case. I'll be trying again as soon as the new plugs arrive.
I have now had 4 replys from local (ish) clubs and 2 chopper clubs, saying they MAY have some people attending the show and have put copies of the poster on their sites/forums.
Mitch has spoken to a couple of VW clubs who say they will definately be attending.
At the Dick Turnip last night, Mitch tried to hand out some leaflets and not only did everyone say they knew about the show, most said they were coming!!!! Including the Pontiac club.
I honestly think if the weather is dry then there is going to be quite a lot of people come along. I have spoken to some guy's at work who are from the Essex area who are into veedubs and they reckon they are coming with some mates! It's going to be a good day, fingers crossed for nice weather
same here chucky even on our site on the hythe in colchester the local lads are talking about the b52 run. whats happening in may? another turtle cruise somewhere.
all positve comments about the B-52 show. I emailed andy willsher about coming to photograph the show but it sems he is in florida shooting the gatornationals so everyone bring your digital cameras and we will have to make our own portfolio of the show and send them to all magazines concerned.
If Shrek is going earlier than us (the Ipswich crew) who is actually going to meet us at Colchester on route? we were talking about stopping at tollgate around 9.20am to meet up with others.
come on !!!!!!! step up and be counted ??????????????????????????????? so who from here is actually going on sunday?????????????? who's cruisin down together??????????? who needs a lift ?????????????????? and who's going to be a grouch and go down on their own ?????????
Jon Golding from Home Grown Hot Rods is going in his pick up, Neil Tadman (the upholsterer) and friends will be there too. Just checked the weather and its supposed to be sunny.
I will meet you down there, I need to meet Mitch early to put the signs and things up. I think Shrek is coming early as well and I know Andy is following me in the V6 Cortina. Im not taking the pop as its no where near done, but will trailer Ashleys traveller.
I am meeting andy at tollgate about 8.45 and then meeting up with Si along the way. Polishing the camaro up on saturday and cant wait for a good day. Turtlespeed lead the way into the 07 season. All bring your cameras for loads of pics
PMSL its to loud to be a diesel ! Its embarrasing to drive sounding the way it does ! It looks pretty and sounds crap. I may meet up with you at Tollgate (Where abouts and at what time ? )
I was thinking about a charity, but decided against it. If the owner does as he says and has a bbq and all is ok then great. But if it all goes wrong and people have paid, even for charity, then they will moan. Maybe ifthis works and it is good we will have a band etc next year and collect money then.
