Hopefully I'll be ready in time for this!! Just need to put my engine back together and find an Oil filter and somewhere to get some new oil and Power steering hoses, then rig up a rear number plate light . then take her in for the dreaded MOT!!
going to aim for mid march for my first attempt at MOT!

was going to go up Yarmouth way for the east coast pirates meet until I heard about this one.

anyone know anything about fitting turbo's???

Well guys it looks like we've started something now! Fekkin aye we got our OWN SHOW ...Woo-Hoo. Really can't wait now and this will really help the winter months tick away. Fi, another ticker timer if you please!.For those in the Ipswich area I think it would be good if as many as poss. could get to the Black Horse next Wed. to talk some detail on this. Lets make it as big and as good as we can. IT NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!!!!

Is it wise hijacking the AHRA meeting to discuss our own show. Doesnt seem fair on Mark and Beckie who are working hard to rebuild AHRA.

I dont think they would mind. It wouldn't be hijacking as it will just be a casual chat in a pub, i'll e-mail them and see what they say. I will go next week but will be in passat as the sceptre is dead.

will try to get down next wednesday quickly to give some leaflets to those who want some. If not we can arrange another meet for us like a few did earlier this month. Leaflets are only being done in black but the same text extra.

Fanks Fi, luvvit and countin' down.
Si we wouldn't in any way be 'hijacking' thier evening meet. We (Ipswich lot) have a good relationship with Becky and co and I'm sure I speak for us all in saying we wish her and AHRA all the best for the future and hope the old club rebuilds ands gets back to it's former glory. A few of us have even talked about what could we do to help out in some way with the organising or 'on the day' help at the MMM. and will be offering that gesture to her on Wed. MMM is our (us Suffolk boys) main local show for our type of vehicle and none of us would want to see it fail and worse still dissappear. Our AFRun talk will just be part of the evening which always seems to be quite a larf........
Mind ya nuts Dell Boy!!!!

When the 5 of us met in the white hart a few weeks ago the topic of MMM came up because we were offered the chance to help with the show but none of us were really up for it, AHRA is still a big club and should be able to easily cope with that show. I for one would rather just park up and chill out. If it is a case of show or no show then yes help them a bit but we dont want to end up lumbered with all the crap jobs, anyway like i say the AHRA is still a big club and they have plenty of members who should help with the show. On the other hand if they want people directing the hot hutches into the carpark instead of the showfield then i think there could be several volanteers!

You're right Tony we probably don't want to get involved in the organising, sorry shouldn't have added that but yes if it is a case of an odd job on the day to make it a success then I for one would chip in, AHRA were untill recently a sizeable club but we don't know thier current membership status and don't forget a lot of people will be passing a critical eye over this years show which may contribute to its continuation next year,  if its a success as in previous years it'll be back and if it's a flop who knows. If a lot of the entrants are M&R type ****e then thatt may well also put off some for another year me included but the vehicles eligible to exibit is down to AHRA.We shall see.

I wont be going on this run cos I`m off to Houston for two weeks with the wife n kids.

On the subject of AHRA membership.........
.I reckon we`re probaly down by about 3 members at the moment, even tho I don`t have a "Rod" I still continue to be a member of the "Acton Hot Rod Association". Who knows I may even be shopping for a rod in Houston(free shipping)So,if any one wants to join up bring ya money next Wednesday!!£15.00 gets ya an NASC membercard n discounted entry to ACCI & the other lot too(can`t remeber which is Harrys lot at the mo)

Mersea Motor Madness..........
The venue has been booked,Once again it`s a one day show & yes the membership would welcome help on the day.I am sure that the new Chairman will want to make the show the same laid back affair as in previous years that we`ve all enjoyed but only bigger.

Chris

I know what you mean but after all that has happened with AHRA I didnt want them thinking we were causing a problem!!!  It was decided at our meeting that as Turtlespeed isnt a proper club with members etc just an informal forum club, that we were not going to do a joint show with AHRA but if required some of us would help out.

As alot of us are ex members of AHRA and although may rejoin at some point, havnt yet and didnt want them thinking a whole load of ex memebres were there just to be a pain in the ass.

I wouldn't worry, there's no way that pop will complete the 1/4 mile let alone be at the end before me.

I'm not gonna make it Dunno If I'm going to make it out at all this year

I've run out of cash and still need to buy a battery and a new or used Power steering pump.

then I need to hope and pray that I can get through an MOT............

I just hope that I'll at least be ready for the Nationals at the showground.

wish me luck folks! I think I'll need it.

Would love to go so is there any chance of a lift from Ipswich(Copdock)??

Riding a hard tail chopper all that way is not good for the kidneys and they have had enough punishment recently!!

Ive got a battery as well and dont worry about power steering, the A12 is fairly straight!!

Looks like the Pop will make it, but only by trailer, so depending on how many kids etc I may have room. I will meet ya at Boreham on the way down the A12.
