count me in for this too, the only show i know of easter time is the classic car show we went to last year at manningtree. If we sort the saarfend run out for a different day to the manningtree show then we can do both, not a hell of a lot to do at manningtree but it's another day out of the house!

Was going to go to B52 today but when i got there the big boss man was out so will go back tomorrow. I'll keep you all informed as to what happens.

Went to B52 today. Chatted to owner. Its perfect for what we want. For starters, the owner is like us, he runs a 59 caddy a ratty rod and a 70's style 'T' also a trike. The place is Kool. lots of 50s fittings, half a 57 Chevy on the wall and a wurlitzer jukebox filled with Rock 'n' Roll. He wall all for us going there, Sunday days are best for them. The american car club meet on the 2nd Sunday he said we could have any other sunday. Just got to let him know. If we want to organise a bigger event in the summer he will help out in any way, we can have a band or full on car show if we want. So all we've got to do now is arrange a day and i'll chat with him.

In the mean time he said to put he's number on here as most people get lost on the way there so you can call for directions. 01702 548688 he's name is Russ. Top Bloke!

This sounds like a place we have got to go to! as origianly suggested by bumper he say easter, only thing is easter sunday is 2nd sunday of month, so how about the 8th of April? come on who's up for it, its on my calender alresdy!!

Yes this is a must do run which could by the sound of it turn into our first show.I think we really need to all get together soon and talk thro' a few of these do's. It's ok bouncing ideas around on here but much more could be achieved at some kind of meeting. I put this back to the powers that be to think about it.

8th April is Easter Sunday which is also 2nd Sunday of month. Either we check to see if the Am car club are still meetin on Easter Sunday OR we risk April Fools Day!

At least if we do the 1st we can plan a run to the seasun on Easter weekend

Tony the 15th also falls on the weekend of the AACI spring nationals which a few on here probably attend either as day trippers or camp over for the weekend so maybe the 8th would be better or is that Manningtree? I think a meet at mr Ps or wherever is def. needed to finalise this and other events we want to attend as a group which can then be posted here to get a better attendance.

Could we arrange this somehow?

Mitch and I spoke today. We think if we can get the B-52 club to agree 1st April it would be good. We can bill it as 'Turtlespeeds april fools run'. We will advertise it on all the sites and mags and let all local clubs know (suffolk, essex and kent). It wont cost any thing to put on and the b 52 club will open up the fields for us.

If you all agree we will sort it out.

Shrek can you print some leaflets that we can put under wipers at the nsra swap meet at arena essex?

Do we agree. If we have a meet up, wot is an in between pub. Im in Long Melford, Mitch is in saaaaaaarfend and the rest of ya , Colchester or Ipswich. I reckon the White Hart on the A12 at chelmsford. Wot say you?

I don't have a date for this years Manningtree show yet, but last years was on the 23rd. I reckon it would be safe to assume it would be the same weekend, which leaves us clear.

A meet before would be good to sort out everything, the sooner the better, really need to get firm plans in place by the end of Jan to give enough time to spread the word.

no problem to getting the leaflets printed. Mitch can you email me over a jpeg version of the turtlespeed logo and Si come up with the wording required and I will put it all together. Some jpegs pics of peoples cars would be good to. For speed though I will have to print it in one colour as my work load is going through the roof at the moment.

Yes yes, April fools run sounds great, we're in. If the word gets put about it should have the makeings of an annual do.What date at the pub then?....The Ipswich crew could poss. ride down together. Glad we all agree to say NO mod. crap, pity in some ways coz I wanted us all to get in tune for hecklers alley at the Nats but I guess we could turn up at any car park on a sat. night for a practice.

No not really, to some on other forums that probably 'spy' on here that would sound like a great day out.

Fi you could pass the word around whilst fraternising on such sites and see what response you get!! Yeah let 'em come, bring it on!! We could all cruise down together, what a harmonic sight that would be that some would be proud to see

Shall we have a meeting at the White Hart this Tuesday night (Mitch cant do Monday and Wednesday is Old Skools night) for a chin wag and any other ideas.

The white hart is at the boreham interchange of the a12 at chelmsford. Just up from chelmsford auctions (or opposite my old mg rover dealer if that helps). Its a big pub reasonably quiet and 1/2 way for everyone.
