The Norfolk boys have made a success of thier 'brass monkey' run up to the north Norfolk coast over the xmas hols. why can't we do something similar on our own east coast down to Felixstowe or the like? F..k the weather, bound to be crap, just get the motors out meet up and have a run out. Pic a pub, beer lunch bit of ho ho ho even a daredevil swim!!skinny dip!!!and head home.
I know it's an idea at short notice and I'm probably talking crap as usual but why not! Just thinking what we could call it as it could become a world famous 'must do' event but then again we could have -
i'm up for it, Trev prob will as well seeing as he lives there anyway but it depends what day you were thinking about. and if that means seeing Jerry in his speedo's then i would rather sell my pop and buy a body kitted saxo or corsa!!!!!!
As long as we can get the blinking Humber to start, we'll be there (better ask Mike if we can go suppose:wink) Mike's on call a couple days over the Christmas break, including Christmas Day.
I think its a great idea, I just wont be around. i have contacted a local Melbourne hot rod club and am hoping to go out with them!! Dontwant to rub it in but its mid summer there!!
I will be in the sea on Xmas day.....I better watch out for them Japanese whale boats!!!!
to late you git you have rubbed it in that you will be in a hot sunny country while we are in a damp over run **** hole of a country. japanese fishermen don have a spear big enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We could have an Ice cream at Felixstowe instead of paddling in the sewage, do we want to pick a day between christmas and new year?
Friday is the 29th, if others aren't working then we could meet at the truckstop at 2pm and cruise to felixstowe for the afternoon???
What do you think??
Sounds good, if we can agree this now and post it so more time for others to see.- if say 1,00pm meet we could catch a pub have a beer or if you prefer a Mr Whippy and have some time maybe for a sea front cruise before it gets too late. Want to also set up something with the boys down essex way (saafend innit)if not during the hols then someone down there suggest something for in the new year...Mitch?
That way we can get to put some ugly fat fecker faces to names
I for 1 maybe 2 maybe 3 are in......speedos back in the cupboard then. d'oh ........Ruth was going to get out her 'dangerous Brian' swimsuit too! ah well.
i'm definatly going, my mrs and step daughter will prob come with me and i am hoping Trev will turn up in his mk1 zep and Del will hopefully be coming too!! so i think this is a definate goer, unless we got a foot of snow that is.
Anyone else?......come on guys lets try and get something going here.We can all laugh at the unwanted **** we all got for xmas, we passed some of last years on at another car club raffle last week. Anyone get a car or much needed parts as a prezzie? . The compressor I wanted turned into a snake but that was cool too. One of the prezzies I got for Luke my son was some driving lessons pre booked for May when he's 17. Definitely another rodder coming into the fold, he says the hardest part will be learning to drive a RHD car!
See those who can make it Friday. I'm off for another lemonade.
Dougal cant make it now and i think Trev is 50/50! Me? well i got water pump problems now and am in two minds whether to go, the pump is still working and isnt leeking but makes a hell of a rattle at certain revs! i have been looking forward to going and am very tempted to take a chance, what you lot think?
Mike has just put a new battery on the Snipe and it started! Mike has washed her (well it is Christmas!) and has just taken her for a trip round the block.
Tony, bring the daily if you're not sure of the pop, but then again Felixstowe isn't exactly far.....
would'nt be very happy bringing my daily so i reckon i'm gonna take a chance and bring the pop, like you say it's not far and if it broke down i could leave it on the side of the A14 for a few day's before i go and tow it back!
Sorry i wont be there. The Humber is still in the paint shop and wont be out till about the 8th Jan. The Charger has now gone and i dont want to drive the Minor that far. Have a good time though.
Looks like I'd better find my brolly as it's just started to rain here. But the the first few shows of the year were wet, seems quite fitting that the last event is too! Come to think of it, most of this years events have been wet.....
Bet Jo didn't need her brolly earlier today when she went to the beach.
