Hi!

Hi!

I Just got talking to mitch so thought i'd join, sounds like a great club/forum with a good attitude. I currently drive a Mk1 MR2 so that will be a good tester! I like loads of stuff i'm knee deep with projects, inc my Sierra V8, our new Mk5 'tina when we get it plus my video projects. reanimation-films.co.uk

Most cars do it for me 50's upwards to late 80's are faves, I also controversially like some newees too, inc new Mini even if the drivers often get on me tats! Classic - modded - what ever, same with music anything apart from over engineered/managed pop and RandB/garage/hip hop related.

Hi

Big fan of the MK1 MR2. I used to have a tuned X1/9 always raced my mate in his MR2 Great fun! There's nothing like a mid engined car on a twisty road!!

Excellent, I really wanted to turn it into a custom, but apart from lack of funds and time right now, the mods I were gonna do were gonna ruin its nice handling, it already understeers without big wide rear wheels! I still have plans but the way its going either this or the 1.8 Sapphire will have to be sold...

great fun last week on local twisties

facing trade in...

Military vehicles?????? sounds interesting.   Tell me more. I have an anorak and willing to listen!!  It was my neigbour who ran a couple of army vehicles as his daylies that got me into cars in the late '70s early 80's!!

I love them as well Fi, just cos of their size and power, but (promise you wont tell anyone) up untill I was 18, I was a member of the I.M.P.S. (Invicta Military Preservation Society) and before I was 16 had helped rebuild numerous Jeeps and 'Jimmys' and a Duck.

That Duck you rebuilt never did float in the bath after you finished with it!

Hey Mark, if you sell the Sapphire, what's going to happen to those wheels?

Good Question, i need to keep em, they look and fit so right. if i dont go crazy and buy a BX next year i'm seriously pondering a Twink powered Hatch for day to day missions. they are too good to get scuffed on the Cortina!

Right now i have found a previous fix in the rear sill  which has got a little ugly so i have gone for professional help to get it sorted and getting him to do the bulk of the MOT stuff. parked 35 miles away its not realisic for me to 'have a go', no doubt it will cost what the cars 'worth' then i'll have to sell it ...
