Hello from 'Spring Break'

Hi guys (and gals),

I apologise that my motivation for finally signing up, is to let you know about a show. I respect forums and their owners hard work, so I'd first like to say a little bit about myself, then see if it is ok for me to post about the show.

The briefest of histories of me...

Bought first Custom Car in March 1970 (Prompted by the 'teaser ads' in H*t C*r and Car & Car Conversions!!!

Ran 'Customised!!!' Daimler 250 (Black/sand (roof), red flake, 8 1/2" Wolfrace Slot Mags etc etc mid 70's... Chelsea Cruise etc.

White MK4 Zephyr Farnham Estate Wagon after that... ARE mags sidepipes (omg!)

'70 430HP 351c/4bolt quench head Mustang... 4.56 rear end (9in nodular) Black, called 'Jailbait'. Pod (BDRA Roadster class) Custom Car Show exhibit (Ally Pally then Olympia 1980/81)

Started 'Bug Jam' in 1987.

Worked for Pod under Roy Phelps, then 'National Dragways :(

Promoted shows since, including 'Shootout Drag Race Series' at Avon Park/Shakey and two 'legendary' fireworks meets there.

Built NAS Showground (which closed a year later! NIMBYS!)

Wrote  'Bug Jam and all that...' published in 2007

Opened 'The 8 Ball Diner' in 2010.

Reopened it in Feb 2011 after flooded/wrecked.

Now involved with one of, if not the best venues I have staged shows at... (About 170 in 25 years) Mid Suffolk Showground, Stonham Barns.

Hi Brett,

More than happy for you to advertise your show here. We had a bit of a run out to the 8 ball on Sunday.......Not the best service in the world!!!...but thats another story!!

While there I saw a leaflet for the show. If you can scan it please post under the evnts section.

Thanks

Simon

Sorry about the 8 Ball service.

I have left the management of diner to concentrate on the shows at Stonham Barns. Setting it up, making it a reality... that was the big motivation for me. I will pass on your observations tho... (and I do believe they were busier than expected most of Saturday)

I have a web flyer which should do the job, cheers!

Driving or building?

Driving is a somewhat shameful Alfa GT3.2 V6...

I heard everyone should own an alfa at least once!!!

Have a 64 Razor Edge Karmann Ghia half built...
