is it illegal to drive without a bonnet?in my 68 mk1 triumph
i realy want to drive the triumph minus the bonnet not sure if its illegal. as its only the top side of the engine thats exposed so surely thats ok and would not injure a pedestrian.though im sure the bumper would do more damage.
the mot manual says the bonnet must be secure when down, and be able to be opened .but what if you have no bonnet?

they do trev but i do think that is illegal,i spoke to john golding home grown hot rods just round the corner from me and he recons it would be ok as the engine doesnt protrude above the body line. may be i should just ask a copper?

Always best ask first - i once chopped my exhaust off my motorbaike when I was a lad ('cos it was rotten at the tailend) - drove to the PC shop to ask was it OK? - well, had to walk home of course!
