Those that attended Hedy castle to-day collectively came up with an idea for an all club event for next year. In no particular order the plans so far are......
Leave Tollgate at 10.30 on a Friday for a run to the Southampton area & book into a Travel Inn.
Visit Beulie (Spelling anyone) for the day on Saturday then travel on to another Travel Inn nearer to the Haynes Motor Collection
Vist Haynes on the Sunday morning & leave at around noon for the run home in time for Tea.
So far we have interest from Tubbyturtles,AHRA,Freeloaders & Rebel Rousers too. I"ll let the Nightmares know shortly.
No doubt for a block booking we may get the rooms cheap, there`s always a restaurant on site (Breakys extra) or cruise out to a local chippy/chinese whatever in the evening.Maybe a local club might join up with us for the evening ! I"ll try to get group discounts at both venues too.
The following Dudes n Dudettes have said they"ll come.
Barry n Mrs (Galaxie Chevy n Co Animal & Co Slim & co Buz & co John Holden Brokeback & co Steve & co

I asked Holiday Inn to quote for the last weekend in June hich I think is Friday 25th & Sat 26th.
Here is their reply.................
Dear Mr Dawson,
Please find details for your group enquiry as follows :-
Arrival 25/6/09 2 nights Rate - £50.15p per room per night including continental breakfast & VAT Cancellation deadline 21 days prior to arrival.
This is the best rate they can offer you, and I have also looked at the whole of June and the rate is the same.
Please let me know if you wish to confirm the rooms.
Kind regards Joy
What do you all think ? We could approach regular B&B type hotels but we wont know what we`ve got until it`s too late. Ya gonna need money for fuel, scoff,Beer & entry to both venues which I havn`t approached yet for a deal.

I think Holidaqy inn is a good idea. Remeber the price is for a room not per person. When working away I always tried to use these as they are easily the best of the 3. Def no travel lodge!!!
I`ve got an answer back from Holiday Inn...........................
Good morning,If you confirm this group, you will be given a reference code which you give to the guests, then each guest rings the hotel to block their room type off and give their credit card details for guarantee, 21 days prior to the arrival date any rooms that have not been taken will be released. With regard to adding rooms on, if this happens you would need to contact the hotel to do this, however, the rate Ive quoted you is subject to availability, so for this reason, I would suggest you confirm 28 rooms instead of 25 as this way you have the price confirmed and rooms can be released 21 days prior.I hope all this makes sense to you.Kind regardsJoyOn 22/9/09 20:02, "CHRIS DAWSON" <dawson.island@btopenworld.com> wrote:Hi Joy,Thanks for the fast responce, how long have we got to secure this booking & can we up or down the numbers.?regardsChris

I got this to-day, So then,Do we book into the South Coast Nats for the full Monty or do we do our own thing plus joining the cruise on Saturday after the Haynes place & then just doing Sunday as a day visitor ?
Hi Chris
Thanks for your email.
If you and the club are coming on Sunday only, please phone Beaulieu events direct on 01590 612345.
I believe tickets are £10/adult on the day in a custom or rod, but cheaper if booked in advanced. This will still allow access to all of the Beaulieu attractions.
Ideally though you do need longer to see everything! Last year we had over 700 cars on display for Sunday, as well as the trade stands and musical interludes, Wild bunch cacklefests etc. This is before you start looking around the Beaulieu attractions.
Friday this year will see Black Kat Boppers playing live with a DJ, and Saturday has Dr Blue and ZZ Eliminator playing live, together with a DJ and Burlesque girls to round off the evening after midnight. All the bands are indoors, and we are licensed until 1.00am. It would seem a shame that you are so close and missing out on a great event! Sunday also has busking from the Ace Trio, who can be seen on Youtube.
The Saturday cruise generally leaves Beaulieu at 12 noon, and cruises across the forest. I think this year we are heading to Christchurch , where there is a café overlooking the sea. Last year over 100 cars took part in this cruise, so you should be able to spot us! We normally aim to return to Beaulieu approx 4pm to get ready for the evening party.
If you have booked the Holiday Inn, I guess this is the one at Nursling, just off the M271 junction.
A very good Fish & Chip diner is Goodies. They have an attached restaurant, which you would need to check for numbers.
The tiny url will show you the location on Google. Its very easy to get to via the motorway network, or through town. I use them at least once a week so can vouch for the food! (Its on the way home, thats my excuse and Im sticking to it!). Alternatively you can aim for Leisure World in Southampton, which has a Frankie & Bennys, TGI Friday, Ask & McDonalds. Much bigger car park as this also hosts the local cinemas and shopping outlets, notably West Quay.
The Holiday Inn is approx 30 minutes from Beaulieu, so you might want to book in for the whole weekend anyway.
This will give you access to all of Beaulieu for the whole weekend, 2pm Friday to close of play Sunday, and all the bands and events.
You can still run back to the comfy beds when required J
If you want to chat further, feel free to call
Look forward to meeting you next year.
Regards
Dan

Cars don't get old, they get a v8. Its not how it looks,it's how YOU see it that counts.
I"ll be putting the final plan up on the AHRA bit as a sticky soon...........
My current thoughts are that we can all cruise down together....
Those that want comfy beds can stay at the Hotel (£50 per room B&B )...and do Haynes on the Saturday am.& also register for the South Coast Nats for the whole weekend if they want to ( £30.00 ) includes Bands in the evening & full Beulie attractions. or just do ya own thing/visit somewhere in the afternoon/evening & check in on the Sunday at the Nats for £10 per head.
Those that prefer to go camping/shed draggin` can do so by registyering for the Nats at £30.00 & then all meet up at the Hotel for the run to the Haynes.
I reckon it`ll be a blast to do the whole thing n start saving now,I know I am !

If you are booked for the weekend thats great. If joining us saturday, we will be leaving Beaulieu at 12 noon, cruising via Lymington to the Cliffhanger Cafe at Highcliffe (about 30 minute cruise). Great location for food, beach and scenic views to the Needles.
Return route across the forest passes the Rising Sun Inn at Tiptoe, (alternative stop off for food) and then back via Brockenhurst to Beaulieu.
a big thanks to Chevy for the time and effort in organising the road trip good digs, good food, good cruising to and from the organised trips and very good company all had a good laugh think now we are looking forward to the sequel
