Engine swap

I know a few people on here are into Humbers, Hillmans etc. Would a Minx/Humber/Singer 1725cc engine and box be an easy swap into a 1958 Husky? Then i suppose it would be a case of finding what suspension/brakes etc will fit. Its all pie in the sky at the mo but a bit more power over the 1390 would be nice.
By the way, heres my new aquisition.  Mrs McClusky the Hillman Husky hahaha.

Mike says that the 1725 engine will go nicely into the Husky. Try the usual Rootes forum's for advice & spares etc. smile.gif

They're all pretty quiet at the moment, but try these:

http://rootesgroup.proboards.com/index.cgi? You'll know a few names on there from Retro Rides

http://www.humber.org.uk/Forum/index.php

Can't find the other's I was thinking about. I'll let you know if I find them.

Edit: you'll have to copy & paste the links, they never seem to work when entered on the quick message thingy!!

Love to cudley but cash and lack of welding skills prevent it. And yes you are biased biggrin.

Oh, by the way................SATIN BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wink
Cheers Fi, will try those forums.

And on a different note i have been making new door cards for the musky. Im not leaving them like this, its just a test fit before the wadding and leatherette goes on. smile
Also fitted a pair of headlight peaks. They suit the old gal.

no  NO!!! NOT SATIN BLACK! It looks cute as it is. Some cars look great done in satin black.

Here's a photo of Digger's old Husky, I think he put a pinto into it, but it was a bit fiddly to do. The 1725 would make a nice combo, keep it in the family so to speak. wink.gif

Mrs stevie just finished a door panel for me. It looks great and has a nice squashy wadding behind the leatherette.
