Each to their own as they say, it's what makes the "hot rod" scene interesting.

The blue barn find Merc pictured above is really nice, there was a blue Caddy Kustom at the Nats that looked simular. The black '58 Fairlane belonging to Rob in the UKK will seem strange once it's repainted, at the moment it's sating black with white scallops and looks nice & ratty, as will Rupe's Hudson that was chopped at the Nats in 2000, which is currently painted satin black as well. (hope that reads ok, but I know what I meansmile.gif)

"She is a trailer queen! la la la la la!" sung in my best Abba style

Have to agree, unless they've come from a great distance away, then I might let them off. wink

I dont bother with the vw clubs, jams, freezes whatever they wanna call em. Very much a "clique" and if ya face dont fit, thats it. Tried the VZI forum and its 2% decent people and 98% concieted tw@ts so that says it all for me as far as the VW club scene goes.

OK, fair comment. But what about the styling and enginering that has gone into these cars? That side amazes me, not knowing one end of a welder from the other myself.

there not just cars ther works of art. i just wish car manufacturas would go back to designing cars in the old styles. it anoys me that the new beetle isnt realy a beetle, its a beetle body chucked on the running gear and engines of the mk 4 golfs.not the way id have done it.sorry for moaning lol

I must admit I cant understand why anyone wouldn't love these. I've always been a massive fan of barris and kustoms in general, I'd use it everyday though!

There was a saying years ago that if you want to get a girl: you drove a kustom, however to get away from a girl you drove a rod!

You have to remember that these cars were built in a different age. If you ever get the chance have a look at Kustoms Illustrated or any other Kustom magazine or book. smile.gif

It's about personel choice at the end of the day and over the past couple of years my tastes have changed. smile.gif
