Similar to jills math question

But its not motor related so ill post it here.

Three men need a room for the night after a heavy drinking session. The hotel only has one room but as long as they dont mind kipping down together they can have the room for 30 quid. They all pay a tenner each and go to their room. After a few minutes the guy on the reception desk realises he overcharged the guys and it should only have been 25 quid, so he gets the porter to take the change up to the guys in the room. The porter realises the guys dont know how much change theyre getting, so he gives the guys a pound each and puts two quid in his pocket as his tip. Now for the math...

If the guys paid a tenner each and got a quid change each, they all paid out nine quid. 3x9 is 27
The porter takes two quid.
27 + 2 = 29 quid. Wheres the other quid gone????????????

Look at it like this, from the original £30 paid out, £25 is safely in the reception, £2 in the pocket of the porter =£27 plus the three £1's each man got back =£30! confuse
