this is starting to get on my nerves. I have had the old starter motor rebuilt with new solenoid and new return spring . Fitted the motor and wired it up. turn on ignition and not a murmour, bloody thing. rewired the cable with new spade connector and fitted it again but nothing. anyone out there with any advice as i dont know about electrics and although i have the whole closed season to sort this out i need to get it done asap. there is a drink (or 2) in it for the winning combination.
have you try the starter when it's on the floor?? just incase the starter is f####d if that works ok then are you getting a feed to it when you turn the key thats a couple of easy checks
Have a looky see at the earth strap that runs from the engine block to the chassis rails............a quick n simple test is too run a jump lead from the earth post direct to anything on the engine that will give a good grounding .
