Yeah and his dad always used to carry a tow rope and tool box for when he broke down. wink.gif

Sniper (Mike) would tell all the bad things about owning a VW ashamed  (and maybe a few good things too if you ask nicely smile  ) His first car was a 1965 Beetle and then he got a 1972 Cal-look Beetle. When we first got together it sat in his folks garage, having broken down months earlier. Just thought Bitzer would probably have some stories about the Beetles Mike owned.

He used to do Bug Jam in the late 1980's and very, very early 1990's, then he met me and bought a fire engine............. weirdface

Mike used to say 6 volt lights were like driving by candle light, I think he converted his '65 to 12 volts. (Might have got that wrong, as it before I was on scene)
Mind you the lights on the Fairlane ain't much better.

RE: My New Ride, the VW Bug

Well cut out the rot in the N/S rear gtr panel and all the wing bolts un-done!

made a new section for the boot lid, being tight and didnt want to buy a 2nd one.

Put a small plate in the N/S at the bottom, the car is quiet sold for its age and all going well, should be ready for paint in a weeks time, Booked time off and ready for the paint booth, few more bits to do, but will pull the glass out when its in the workshop
