There definitely used to be a Frankie and Benny's at Braintree.

If anyone is up for starting something local, I'll certainly support it whenever I can.

Naturally I always promote my ole Barking Fox meet (last Sunday of the month 12.30pm start), though I must admit the weather has taken it's toll of late !!

I think the more meets the better, you need to take advantage of breaks in the weather whenever you can !

some of us go along to AHRA pub meet first wednesday of every month at the stratford black horse (half way between Ipswich and Colchester)
A very good turn out last week.
I'm sure everyone would welcome you along

frankie and bennys used to be a good turnout on a wednesday. I would go for that but every week is probably what killed it off. there are other pubs in the area with good sized car parks about. A friday night cruise and chat would be a good kick start to the weekend.
Why not put a few suggestions on this thread and we take it from there.
Variety is the spice of life after all.
my suggestions are
Ardleigh Crown on the A12/A120 intersection
Frankie and Bennys would be good again
The yew tree Gt. Horkesley

depends on how far people want to go and if the landlord is okay with petrol heads.

Do those pubs have nice big car parks ?

Cos if you are thinking of Friday night, might they get a bit busy ?

If Braintree isn't too far, this is a great venue, big car park, good food, car club and biker friendly. Just give her a call before you go, you'll be made very welcome.

now we've had some time to think about it how are we looking to carry on and do something
if you would like to meet up say twice a month how about every 2nd&4th week this would then not interfere with the black horse on the 1st week of the month
the only trouble i see for meeting up on a fri. or sat. is that most places are already full of cars where as during the week most managers would welcome the extra business also spliting the week up

as shrek says frankie and bennys would be good againsmile

There's one opening in Haverhill on oct 6th, other than that its Ippys, Braintree or Bury St Eds

I went to Limeburners for fish & chips the other night, deceptively big car park and retro style chippy cafe attached to pub:

www.limeburners.co.uk

It's a couple of miles up the road from Little Blakenham

Oh and the beer's between £2.40 and £2.60 a pint wink
