I know its a Lamberetta and not a Vespa but my mate runs a scooter club in Suffolk called Squaretails Scooter Club
Check out the site mate
I helped resto a few t5's last year Is excellent fun
www.vespat5.co.uk
My mates Gaz on there, if you need any help sourcing bits try there first mate as they got club discounts etc and great links to companies and supliers
It will probably be more reliable like that Bod!!!
You better get down the gym and start training......I can see a lot of bump starting on the horizon for you!!!
And Pete, Vespa's where never as good as Lambrettas, especially not the T5's which were always considered to be the poor mans vespa compared to the PX, especially the 80's square headlight T5.......But now I'm old they are probably considered to be classics!!!
How you getting on with it Bod? is it nearly ready for MOT yet? have you got the stuff out of the box and hit it with a stick yet? by the way, if its a Lammie, when you've put it back together does it make it a sheepy?
hey mr plopular, they dont have to be bad starters, you can get 12 volt conversions and electronic ignition( funds allowing ). its not like it was in the 1940s when you were poodling about on one. no chucky , i havnt had a chance to hit it with a stick yet , but if it ever gets done i hope it will be more lammie to rammie.
ha ha, pity i cant remember seeing you ride around on that! you can remember my Dad riding around on his vespa tho cant ya? - in the days before it was law to wear helmets!

you were the first Mod i ever met Chucky....but then you were known as Anthony
yeah , the guy i bought it off said it was a 63 but my neighbour , who is a lambretta anarok , looked up the chassis number on a website that helps with production dates, and its a 1962 series three .
at the moment i am minus a seat and i have got one coming my way , but if your mate wants the space in his shed , i'll have his aswell (haha).

Si, i know i dont come on here much but did you really think i could let that go? Vespas are far superior to lambrettas, They are more reliable, more comfortable, look better (Pre 77) and small frames can handle better. Go on, admit it, out of all the scooters you had the Vespa PX was by far the best. Ok, this was my one but you can kinda see yours on the left, who's that skinny kid on the right of the picture?
Ah the good 'ole Vespa !! Back in the day I had a ss180 bored to 200 with all the extras ,flyscreen ,chrome front mudguard ,etc etc .but no crash bars ..couldnt afford 'em !We all used to hang out at Woodford scooters on a Saturday morning as I recall!!My mate had a lamberreta which was smashed and battered to @**k but still kept up with each other . We would cruise all over East London ...oh happy days.........!!
ok so the px was the most comfortable and the most reliable and I wished I hadn't swapped for that old Li but I do prefer lambrettas to vespas. They look better and handle better and with all that pushing, keep you fit at the same time.
