alternative road sign meanings

talking to simon tonight we got onto( in a weird deflection of conversation) the subject of road signs and the alternative meaning.
he said when he was in scotland he saw a sign saying ' 20 is plenty' .
does that mean the speed or alternatively could it mean the amount of pints most scots drink before driving!!!!!!!!!! or how many deep fried mars bars they consume in a week?

Anyone got any more

this is an ongoing thread and needs help (just like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

There is a hill near me that says 20 degrees, but I find the way the wind blows down it, its always colder than that.

Ive always been amused by the signs up north on steep gradients.The ones that tell you what gear to select when descending.Bit confusing when your in an automatic!!!
