I've got a 2.9 v6 here that I wan't to run, it has an autobox. My plan is this
Take off the fuel injection as I do not have the ecu and the loom appears to be damaged. (sell the plenum, injectors etc) get my mate Andy to fabricate an inlet manifold, to hold carb/s possibly weber 38dgas attach a timing wheel to the crank pulley point a vr sensor at it fit a Throttle position sensor install a megajolt ecu to run the ford EDIS system wire up the Megajolt , play around with the software to set the ignition timing using the base map
bosh, rumble rumble , GO! GO! GO!
or not ?
what do you think, advice , concerns, views anything ?
just trying to cover all bases, been reading lots of stuff about it but I'm bound to have missed something
how about a breakers yard who tend to deal mostly in fords
There are a couple of Ford breakers in Essex, there is one at Tendering (between Manningtree & Harwich) and one not far from Tiptree. My unlce uses both for his Fiesta and says that they are really helpful.
Yes please! I could do with either a loom and ecu for a BOA 2.9 v6 or a set of carbs for any 3.0 V6 or similar size, the inlet manifold will be easy for my mate to fabricate as part of the inlet is part of the block.
