Got myself a 2.9L 24v V6 Cossie lump and Auto !!!!! looks to be in mint condition though time will tell. I'm well pleased as I paid very little for it
anyway, has anyone got a yard/workshop/garage or anything in or near Ipswich that I can rent so my mate Andy can do some welding and we can get the engine in place.
I also have been doing some research and have found it's easier to use a 2.8 distributor, Inlet manifold and carbs. has anyone had any experience of that?
wish me luck chaps.
sorry to those I didn't find at the NATS, tried to phone Mitch but got some message about the number not being able to accept calls
and when I saw simon he looked busy behind a laptop at his stall so I thought I'd better leave him to it

IF ITS A 24 VALVER YOU CANT USE ANY 2.8 BITS, BUT IF ITS A 12 VALVE YOU CAN BUT THE DISTRIBUTOR NEEDS THE 2.9 GEARING ON IT AS IT GOES A DIFFERENT WAY, THE INLET NEEDS 2 HOLES ELONGATING TO FIT AND LONGER BOLTS IN 2 OF THE HOLES
wish me luck chaps.

Cheers mk3 zeph, it's the 24 Valve. Oh well, it's all there so I'll just soldier on with it! the important thing at the mo is getting it in place, I'll worry about the rest later. if I can get a haynes manual or the wiring diagrams from somewhere it shouldn't be too tricky, just time consuming.
I didn't get online over the weekend so didn't see that Dez had offered up a motor or two. And I didn't notice you down felixstowe, though I didn't know what car to look for until the Sunday. hope everyone had a good time, and I'll definately be camping next year, just couldn't afford to this year.

Pleased to hear your good news, did Dez help you out in the end?
We saw you at Felixstowe, in fact you stood next to our car for ages but I was busy trying to prevent world war 3 between my 2 kids!
no worries mate, i know a guy who does wiring harnesses and diagrams for this engine into well anything really, mainly cortinas but he charges £150, prob better to try it yourself first
I watched one of these engines with auto box go on ebay, poss the one? i thought about bidding on it for my consul but then after talking to a couple of people i found out the inlet manifold and carbs from a 2.8 dont fit, i already have an inlet manifold and carbs from a 2.8 just waiting for the right lump!
if you have a word with si he might have a bit of space in the work shop as long as you dont mind not takeing upto much room ..pm si and see if there is enough room as we have to share it at the moment with another person..so dont want to use space thats not ours...
where abouts is it, I need to stay pretty close to Ipswich as i'll be needing to work on it most nights , and Andy (welder guy) will need a bit of space to get around it.
I'm going to visit a couple of farmers around Copdock, Hintlesham, washbrook area to see if any farmer wants to rent me some barn space.
Ade contacted me last night to say that I could have his space in the workshop , so as soon as I can arrange a car transporter i'll be taking it out there. Hopefully thats ok with Si too. Finally feels like I'm making progress, and the mrs will be happy to see the truck out of the garage for a few weeks, thought I 'm sure she'll make me repaint the oily floor and walls :(
wow what brilliant news , we are glad you have found a place to do your stuff..and most of all we are pleased that you are shareing with si...welcome to the work house matie ....fantastic ....brilliant news...
will be phoning for quotes for car transporters this weekend so hopefully I'll be out there one evening or next weekend :) if anyone knows any good companies for this let me know!
