Took my son karting last week,got pushed into a concrete wall head on,end up in hospital with a fractured bone in my back. Plenty of time to contemplate the future. Now,We want another v8 so the moggy will have to go and we were thinking of a camaro z28 etc these are still within our budget at the mo. Need to know the pitfalls,what to look out for etc.
I had an 86 Z28 With T Tops. No major shortfalls other than headlining falls apart, T Top seals leak like a tea strainer Bullet proof motor and trans so no real concerns, Remov the AC and smog equipment as i found the car was really underpowered for such a large motor. Whack a decent air cleaner and carb on it and they totally transform the performance De catted mine with straight through pipes and it was a diffrent car ! Nose cone paint work can be a bit poor as over the years the plastic front ends take dings and knocks and can split and be deformed. Boot retains water in the side storage areas if the seals are poor ! Nothing you would not expect on a 20Year old car really.
